hi
I'm thinking of joining Vodafone
They have a data test drive for the first 2 months so I'm tempt to sign up with a low data amount eg 2gb as I can get phone I want free with tariff
Does anyone know what they charge to upgrade data later on?

Out of all networks and MVNO's and my need for a good data coverage and speed in areas of my work and home, in practical terms VodaFv¢s would score second place, but as it comes ripp off practice's, "quality of CS"- aka flobing you about, general shambles and experience's expressed in complaints megathread- trust me, poster above and all of the other humiliated punters - they are blood sucking leeches!
If you choosing to ignore THIS, else, nothing is going to be of help to you- you'll have to learn own-self!
As a last straw of best (in my case) networks for 2g and 3g, but coverage for calls:
o2 had performed best, but data speeds and reliability worst.
Followed by " 3", with just bareable data performance.
Followed by EE, with best speeds, but most unreliable data connection.0 -
Puzzled on what the test drive has to do with getting a phone with a low data plan?
The test drive is for the first 2 months of the contract and until recently it was 3 months unlimited so less of a deal now.
If the data is not enough for your usage then you have to suffer it for another 22 months or upgrade.Censorship Reigns Supreme in Troll City...0 -

You'll find that it most definitely was if you go with them. Since you're qualifying your original post, use Talkmobile if you want their service. Orcsee how constructive I am and use the horse's !!!!.0 -
I'm with Vodafone and (touchwood) I've yet to encounter a major issue with them (and I appreciate there are scores of MSE members who've had a lot of grief!) once the Data Test Drive runs out they'll send you a text.
I'm pretty sure it'll tell you how much you've used and I *think* it gives you an option to upgrade your tariff if you're a heavy data user. It's not your credit score that counts, it's your credit history. Any replies are my own personal opinion and not a representation of my employer.0 -
There are legions of Vodafone customers who "never had a problem" - until Vodafone step in and mess things up. I have no problem when I don't need them to get involved beyond providing a network service. HOWEVER, they regularly force me to have to correct all sorts of mistakes and that's when people start pulling their hair out. With mobile contracts you're in it for the long haul - so watch out when it's your turn and keep the contact information for the Web Relations Team - you'll need it at some point.0
