Good Morning everyone,a bit grey and overcast outside at the moment . I am decluttering a kitchen drawer this morning.I have a few to do so I thought I get them done one day at a time:)
This afternoon we have our History club and then we break up until January I think we are studying Mussolini.Tonight I am running my DD to her friends house where she will imbibe wine and Chinese food and i'll pick her up around 11.00 Saves her the cab fares and I don't mind
DGS Ben comes home this Sunday for a month from Uni and I'm looking forward to that.
Taught DGS Henry to make pancakes yesterday after school,he really enjoyed making them ,and eating them as well:):)
Lots of odd jobs to catch up on this morning I'm so glad all my shopping is done and dusted and I don't have to go near a shop for several weeks now:):)
Hope everyone has a good day and doesn't get caught up in all the manic Christmas rush too much
Cheers chums

Good Morning everyone, damp and drizzly here today but I'm awake!!! I managed to sleep all day yesterday and then through the night too, the virus seems to have broken in the night and I'm like a mini waterfall interspersed with gargantuan sneezes and much-coughing-in the marsh periods but at least I can get upright and keep my eyes open, hoorah!
Housework is done, laundry taken down and put away, fire cleared and off to do upstairs in the near future. I have some cooking to do so I'll have another indoors day (mainly) and hopefully be fit to face the shops tomorrow.
LAINY tried to pm you and I hope it got through but the pooter kept timing out, thank you for being so kind and caring petal, Lyn xxx.0 -
Hey Lyn,

Morning((((((((((hugs)))))))))) if you need one. Sorry I was awol yesterday blame the injection. My arm is very slowly returning to normal, not as red but still quite a lot of swelling.
OH went to the Drs for his blood result yesterday, took the BP machine back, so I am waiting for a call to go for medication, it's not high all the time, sometimes it is quite low.
We had an appointment at the bank yesterday afternoon, think they must be desperate for business, wanted us to take a personal loan at 9.9% to pry off the two cards we used when we moved. They are both at 0% makes me wonder if they think we are daft. Both cards will be clear early in the new year and I can then start rebuilding our emergency pot and save up to have the multi fuel stove put in during the summer.
I hope those of you in the north are o.k. It looks as though Scotland is in for more snow over the weekend. SIL emailed last night, she says the river near them looks like the sea, it has waves on it. They live on a hill, and have more than one way to get out of the village if it does break its banks.
Time to get myself out of bed, it's the 'oldies' lunch today, so no supper needed, just something light whilst watching TV.0 -
Morning all.
Glad that overall we've all seemed to have slept and are feeling better. Maybe that's because its Friday!!
I actually slept late this morning (whoops) but I only have the one appointment today so I have to stay awake to do some desk work.
Thanks Tru for our Christmas carol today. I'm beginning to feel festive - I think that our tree is going up tonight. *fingers crossed*
Hugs to all. xxBack in the red :mad:

Morning all
Day off today , I have started by removing all the cushion covers off the two sofas and they are currently washing , I've also taken out the cushion pads from the throw cushions , they are flat and worn so need to get some new ones , they don't seem to last at all
The reason I'm washing the sofa cushions is because the cat wee'd on oneshe's never done it before and she was laid in it as if she didn't know she had done it  she seems well in herself and she's only 11 I'm not sure whether to take her to the vet or wait and see if it happens again ?
Had an unexpected bill from sainsburys energy , I couldn't understand it at all and DH has gone through the bill, I think he's sorted it out and we do owe , but the way it's set out on the bill doesn't make any sense at all, he's gone through it with a fine tooth comb , what a waste of an hour , if they simplified the way they wrote it it would make life a lot easier
think I'm going to make chicken and fried rice for tea tonight , I have everything in I think
Have a good day everyone
mrs LW glad you are on the mend x0 -
Now cream crackered. Think I will do some knitting instead of all the things I thought I might do today. Have a busy weekend planed, a nice sort of busy, seeing friends and a couple oh hours or so womanning our publicity stand for work.
I am going to make a biriani for dinner, I have a really good recipe, from the Sunday Times I think. I have lost my recipe for na an bread, but we might have some in the freezer or I could motivate self by looking it up, everything seems a bit daunting after 3 hours sleep.
Washing having a g happy flap outside, I can scarcely believe this, nearly the shortest day and I am hanging washing outside, a treat really because everything smells nicer dried outside.
Think have a stye developing, that will look very appealing to the public when on publicity.I was jumping to conclusions and one of them jumped back0 -
Hi Everyone,
Been a bad girl and not got on here lately:rotfl:
Hope everyone is okay. Saw my consultant yesterday. Cancer hasn't returned, and what is there is in remission for the moment.
My outdoor stairlift is being replaced before Christmas:j Only waited a year for the grant:o Still it;s being done at last!
Had DGD over last weekend to put up the tree. She had a lovely time making paper chains and biscuits with her Granpa. Then had her Mum and Dad, DGS and their godparents for dinner on Sunday. I was shattered last week:rotfl:
Catching up with emails today. I must do some more stocking shopping too, which I don't much fancy:(
Anyway, I am still here, so hi to everyone!I Believe in saving money!!!:T

Afternoon all.
Nmlc up until the last few years ive always made some sort of effort on hubbys birthday, but like you, he has done sod all for mine. Its annoyed me for years, he's made more of a fuss of our wedding anniversary than he has my birthday but ive stopped making an effort for his now. I dont think its bothered him. If he's working away i send him a 'happy birthday' message but thats it.
This year ive tackled it a different way. He doesnt usually buy me anything for Christmas either so ive asked him for some new lights for the living room. The ones we have are horrible and i hate them and he doesnt believe in spending on the house unless he has to so i'll never get them replaced otherwise. For my birthday ive decided i'm going to ask for 3 new interior doors.:rotfl: He'll moan of course but i might get them if i am lucky. Fingers crossed.
Slept really well last night, in fact i went back to sleep after the girls got me up for their early morning wee. Next thing i knew i'd got two dogs under the covers trying to wake me up for their breakfast. It was 10 oclock! Debating whether it was worth going down to see Mother this morning as by the time i'd got ready it would be her dinner time. Quickly washed me hair, cleaned me teeth and fed the dogs and i was out the door before i gave up on the idea.
Glad i went as the care manager was in and i was able to ask about a few changes i wanted in Moms room. Strange as it might seem, the inspectors had recently been in and had the same concerns as me about the stuff piled on the wardrobe. It was a health and safety risk apparently. It was all junk, apart from a few packets of pads which now ive sorted out Moms wardrobe, can snuggly fit in the bottom of her wardrobe. Lovely to see her wearing one of the warm nighties i bought her though she wasnt wearing a vest but she seemed warm enough.
Annoyed at my brother. She has no body wash. The carers had been using their own supply of soap to wash her. The only thing she has was some well watered down handwash. She did have a new bottle of bodywash that i bought her until it went 'missing' along with other toiletries that i took down.
Mother is well and happy. Eating and drinking well. I took her a bottle of my flavoured water down which she enjoyed. There are some Christmas events going on down the home on the 18th and 22nd. I'm not sure it would be wise if i go. I'm not sure it would be wise if i dont. I can hold my tongue but last year was bad enough! I'll see if i can persuade hubby to go with me, they wont say a word out of turn if he's with me.
Hubby and youngest home tonight. Its so much easier when they are working away for me to concentrate on my Mother, my Grandson and myself in between.
Onwards and forwards,
