Bit small for Henlans wasn't he on for £10,000? Either way I'll just say what everyone else (who has a boots order) is thinking. thank you for coming along to gloat :) very nice of you

I agree. I also think there may be a few porky pies being told about orders getting through. Mine failed but you dont miss what you never had. Onwards to the next glitch

Good morning all, a bit windy here (weather wise :D).

Freezer repair man just been, it was exactly as I told them over the phone, compressor gone again! Being repaired next week. It was the same chap as before and he has said my freezer is in the ideal place so is nothing to do with me, he couldn't believe it had gone again. He has also put a claim in for me for the food.

The compressor went on ours a couple of years ago - and it is a premium brand freezer that was only 5 or 6 years old

Managed to save most of the food by moving it to friends and family. It was a few months after the first Dr Oetker promo, and still had about 50 pizzas in there along with loads of cheese from the anchor glitch I think it was at Asda. The friends thought I was insane about all the stuff i had and couldnt understand how it was free. It is still talked about today :rotfl:

On the face of the initial blood and bone marrow tests it didn't look that bad. Since then I've had a constant run of more in depth tests and I'm booked in for a whole body MRI next week.
I didn't write about it on here because I was absolutely terrified at the time but not long after I was diagnosed I had numbness in face and visual disturbance in one eye. That turned out to be a tumour just under one of my eyes which I had 5 weeks of successful radiotherapy for. I'm having the same again on my neck and shoulders this time.

I reckon I'm due a break so hopefully the big scan next week wont throw up anything else. I'm learning very fast not to ignore aches and pains or things that I'd usually just shrug off. I've also given in and accepted some pain medication which I'd resisted up until now.

I meant to congratulate you on the upcoming nuptials. How exciting :D I'll look forward to reading your account of it in the run up.

Thanks to everyone for the good wishes. Squigs, we can meet up after I get this scan out of the way next week. I promise not to wear my blue latex gloves like I did yesterday when I took the kids out to the arcades :rotfl: I've ran out of normal coloured ones but wasn't prepared to be handling filthy money.

Sorry to hear your news is not good. As you say you are due a break. Not good that you are having to wait for the scan - NICE guidelines state that you should get the scan within a week of telling the doctor about your symptons.

Mine remains completely unchanged. Order still being processed, no change to initial tiny points balance, no gesture of goodwill.

Fortunately this is still in warranty as I bought it at John Lewis, but I already have a complaint in with the directors of hotpoint, and once it is sorted a long email will be going to those directors and the directors of John Lewis. My last freezer lasted me 18+ years with one thermostat replacement early on.

I have managed to move a lot, a friend had two empty small freezers and my daughter has taken about 8 pizzas (yep, Dr O) and two chickens and pieces of beef, told her she could eat the pizzas if necessary.

When the engineer asked if I had lost a lot of food I got the distinct impression he wanted me to embroider it so I said about £100 - £150, then I think he was a bit disappointed at the figure, but I lost nowhere near that amount., though I lost some expensive (for us) stuff the previous time. I guess a 300 litre freezer would normally hold a lot more than that if you actually pay full price for a lot of it :rotfl::rotfl::rotfl:

  • Morning Peeps,

Any cruise experts heard of a company called SmartCruiser?

Got best price for a cruise, but worried about reliability.

I bet all the cruise experts are at sea!

I promised my OH I'd contact my clinic after the holidays as I was in a lot of pain. tears and snot type of pain. So I rang today and was asked to come in to get checked out. I had an MRI scan on my painful parts and the result is my cancer has decided to move into my spinal cord. very nice of it too :p
