It is crazy - as far as I am concerned I need reserves of milk and a loaf of bread in the freezer on top of normal Christmas shopping, never quite understood why people buy so much food just to throw it away!

I'm making a conscious attempt to only have in what we need. Hate to throw out stuff, so sorting out now what will get eaten and what won't.

OH gets a lot of food gifts from his work. The wine and the olive oil lasts for as long as we need, but I'm sorting through everything as it has come in. Otherwise I find stuff at the back of the fridge that we could have eaten and its hidden by stuff we won't touch.

Today I had a big sort out of the freezer. House freezer holds food we will eat or easy cook food for the peckish, garage freezer has the overflow.

Sorting the fridge in the same way.

no its not that classy around here, not enough to have an Ann Summers shop

OMG, something with batteries, I just have to think, hopefully not the feet grating machine, that would be the right price or thereabouts ...

He did cut my big toe nails the other night - I am too squeamish to cut my own toe nails so OH does them for me and I still wriggle and scream

My feet are actually in very fine fettle now, it was only in the summer months when I was bare footed or in sandals that they went a bit donkey-like but now I am back in thick winter tights they are protected from the elements

Donkeylike you create such a wonderful image lol

    That surprised me to.

Look on the bright side scamps, you get her most of the time and the in-laws get to see her occasionally. Would you really want to spend time with the in-laws?

OH came home last year from work with a huge Christmas cake which would have taken us until Easter to finish.

I remembered the local Methodist had a Christmas dinner each year for the elderly on their own each year so I googled and found the organiser. I rang her up and thankfully she was still the organiser and she said that they were setting up on Christmas Eve morning

So we popped down with the cake. She said that at the end of the day all the ladies and gents went home with a goody bag with cake etc

If you end up with presents of cake or ham or chocolates etc you don't think you will use up eg if you have a food hamper - it might be worth finding put if there is a similar scheme locally or maybe Salvation Army or local church group etc
