eBay Buyer has opened INR, Hermes shows parcel delivered

  • Just an update for everyone. I escalated the case today, after having uploaded valid tracking at the very start of the claim. Very upset to get an email saying that the case had been resolved in favour of the buyer and that EBay had refunded by taking money out of my PayPal account!

I got on the phone to them, and luckily they reversed the decision and put the money back in my account. I THINK the nice man at EBay said that as it was their mistake, eBay would pay for the refund themselves, but I will have to keep an eye out for that, and to check that they haven't given me a defect.

Thanks so much for the help, and for walking me through things!

That is just typical of ebay to fess up the decision.

Glad it is sorted. If they ruled in your favour by correction or on appeal it should prevent the feedback worry/remove defects. If they simply give you an account credit/refund then it won't.
  • I had opened 2 INR cases for a parcel containing 2 items from the same seller, missing after the Hermes courier left it outside my door. Seller uploaded tracking for only one of the items, so although it was the same parcel the other case was found in my favour. I then unexpectedly got a message that the seller refunded me for the other item too, closing that case.
However, only one refund for one of the items (half the total amount) has arrived in my Paypal account. When I click the "view original purchase" button on Paypal it shows me the whole transaction for both items. It's not a large amount of money but it's a bit mystifying.
