Advice, parking ticket at hospital parking eye

  • thanks, did appeal online, i did stray a bit.

i said i was the keeper and that the letter they sent was eyond the 14 days they have to contact me, and as i i had many friends giving me lifts over the last 2 months i didnt know who the actual driver was on that day.

i also said i looked around in the car and found the parking ticket that was paid for and evidently the machine malfunctioned and 10p wasnt registered, which is why they issued the driver with the parking charge.

I also said i had told this to PALS, who said they would be canceling the ticket.

I asked they either cancel the ticket or persue the driver instead and leave me to concentrate on my treatment.

Maybe i said too much, i dont know, but well see what happens.
    Thanks again.

You probably have not done too much damage, but you should have followed the advice given and not tried to embellish it. There is a wealth of knowledge on here and any regular contributor with a decent post/thank count should be followed to the letter.

You can only do damage to your current and any future cases by thinking like a reasonable person. These scavengers are not. They don't do mitigation and will pounce on any titbits you may give them.

When you get a reply, come back here and, please, follow the advice without your variations.

Well done. Whatever they write, as long as 'charge cancelled' appears in the text, it's mission completed.

I guess they signed the letter as per usual 'Kind regards'? There's precious little 'kindness' in anyone trying to pick your pocket.

Hope the hospital is more helpfully dealing with all your health issues than they were in dealing with your parking charge.

I wish you all the best.

    Hi Gordie

I don't know if your hospital does the same but my sister (who lives in Wales) had breast cancer in 2009 and she was entitled to a "hospital car" for free travel to and from the various hospitals she had to attend. Cardiff and Hereford if memory serves.

She didn't use it because they were in receipt of Pension Credit at the time so they could claim their fuel/mileage costs.

    Might be worth enquiring.

    Wish you all the best.

    Regards - Dolly

ps. Parking Eye payment machines are notorious for coins getting stuck and not registering (nor returning) resulting in under payments. Happened to us in the infamous Tower Road car park in Newquay.

op - I'm glad this has so munificently, 'one-off 'ishly been cancelled......this time.

As if you don't have enough to be dealing with - all our strong wishes for that - but I'm seizing on this shabbiness 'the whole room is decorated in posters saying they wont deal with parking eye problems.'

This needs major local journo.+pictorial exposure, including - and driven by - MP involvement, for starters.

Given dolly dee's p.s. #17 - this situ. could arise again. Needs eradication at source. Perhaps an mser in your area could fasten on to this?

Fakebook, Tw@tter, Trapadvisor are also available, and the Daily Wail would love this one.

Best of luck with your treatment.

Well, post just disappeared. Try again from notspot Fens, &.
Fc, I deliberately do not roam those realms:-)

From #9, I note 2 further failures: method and target date
'a cancellation should arrive by post before 3/1/16'.

9 days overdue is not acceptable.

op - have you received that by post yet? I'd scrutinise wording too, but fully understand if you are not up to more at present.

  • Sorry for the delay, ive been dealing with other things, the Email came on 5/1/15, so far i have received no letter through the post, just the Email.

The Email contains the line "On this occasion as a gesture of goodwill we will be cancelling this charge", so im sure its cancelled.

As for the suggestion of pushing this with the press and stuff, id love to, however, i have too much going on right now with work, health and financial issues to be dealing with the press and stuff.

    Thank you all.
