received a email from talktalk this morning saying I have gone over my allowance and my account is suspended until payment is made, when I logged in to my tt account the data bill showed £1700 Used from my daughters phone , she said she had been watching a film not knowing that data was turned on when I contacted tt about the bill and explained that I had set a £20 usage limit on the account and set up text alerts if we go over our allowance. and when the allowance was exceeded last night I only received an email at 0830 am stating the allowance had been exceeded . some 8 and half hours after going over the allowance and the 20 pound usage limit so why did they not text alert me as soon as the allowance was exceeded last night has anyone else had this problem and was it resolved .

You will be leaving the UK aswell as Europe0

Sorry Vicky but they will not help, there is clearly an erroneous data problem with Talktalk and the only advice they give is to turn your data off. Not really helpful at all. One night whilst at home on Wi-Fi my data use was 2.86mb every one or two minutes throughout the night when I was asleep. Talktalk really don't want to listen as I said on another thread just google 2.86mb and you will see numerous entries relating only to Talktalk.0 -
Google sees this issue starting July 14, do you have any TT apps?

Hi Vicky have contacted tt and they have now pointed out to me in the t&c s that setting a usage limit of £20 on my account does not limit anything because it is not a usage cap as stated in the t&c s. Though when I set up this usage limit with tt over the phone this was not explained so I thought I could not be charged any more than that. TT have now opened a case with the tt ceo who now say that thay will get back to me in a further 10 days from yesterday to talk to me about it in the mean time we are still suspended from the tt mobile service0

the fettler, I have experience exactly the same situation, this is obviously a strategy TalkTalk employs to screw over its customers,
Like you my son ran up a data usage of £69.00 with approximately 400mb of data, on an supposively unlimited data priceplan, I had to pay to get my services resumed and then complain about it.
Like you I requested a usage limit of £15.00, which the following month data usage went to £93.00 again on an unlimited data price plan, this is totally criminal TalkTalk are prepared to rob their customers this way.
I have now been notified that the AllinSim price plan will no longer be providing unlimited data and they will be offering a paltry 3gb, they will obviously be waiting to screw over their customers on this price plan. I will be changing mobile suppliers and will be fighting my case all the way to ofcom and as many social media sites to have my broadband cancelled as I was duped into taking broadband with TalkTalk to get on this price plan.
NEVER TO RETURN TO THIS COMPANY0
