Leaving VirginMedia but rejoining in Spouse's name?

Hi. Been shafted by VM so handed in 30 day cancelling notice in.
Not been contacted by them so assume my contract will end in a few days.
However is it possible for someone else in our property to join up to VM in their name (we dont share the same surname), and join up as a new customer, and pay nearly 30% less for the identical package that I am currently paying for?
