Should I buy this phone

http://www.hotukdeals.com/deals/oneplus-x-5-0-inch-3gb-ram-16gb-rom-snapdragon-801-2-3ghz-quad-core-smartphone-no-2339958

I know many people are talking about Oneplus, and the deal is a good one. But I'm really a little bit reluctant to Chinese brands, although the specs are all I would want.

I love simple things so I like its design too (adding to my intention to buy but still hesitating...)

So if there is anyone here knowing this brand better or even have used phones from this brand please share your view. Thanks!

I have had a One Plus One for the last 18 months and it is still going strong. In fact I have just updated it to android 6.0.1 ;)

I would have no problems recommending the company, and have given away 2 invites for the one plus 2 to mates for them to buy one.

Personally I wouldn't bother with the 'X' as the specs are too similar to my current 'One' but if I had the money I would buy the one plus 2 now.

I was very attracted by the One plus x and had an invite to purchase when it first came out. I didn't buy as the spec wasn't much better than my current phone but recently thought of buying one for my partner so did a bit more research.

I have seen a review where the phone was dismantled and the most concerning issue was that screen replacement was a major problem as it required most of the innards to be removed.

There overall feeling was that it was quite a good phone for the money but whatever you do, don't drop it!

Thank you! I hear that Oneplus is going to cancel the invitation system, I might probably watch for two more weeks and see if I can get one with good price :)

    Android 6.1 does not exist.

There is no official 6.x release from One+, so it's custom ROM and not really relevant.

The 5 year old HTC HD2 can also be upgraded to Marshmallow...

Marshmallow latest release (which updated my Google Nexus 5 this morning) is 6.0.1
  • I have bought another model before: Oneplus X LTE 3GB Ram with 16GB ROM. So far i think it's quite easy to use and handy. The main reasons driving me to purchase this model are their double camera and dual sim. Thus you can consider about this model as well. Besides, lots of Xmas online promo out there you may grab this chance to enjoy the discount n make your decision without any hesitation; at least i know T-dimension, their site's distributing some discount promo code. Hope this help!
