A few extra bits - Finished making mr f's birthday card....it's something which started as a bit of a joke a few years ago & now he demands a home-made one every year! used a recycled envelope to put it in.
    - Used up the rest of the recycled purple holographic bag & ancient gifted thread for making Christmas gift tags. They look surprisingly nice. Cost = NIL.
-Emailed Co-op Energy about the whereabouts of my goodwill payment. Very quick response. It had been added to my energy account. I've asked for it to be paid into my bank account instead as energy account is well in credit at the moment.
    -Did a couple of surveys.
-Postman brought a box of free tea-bags to test (survey) & the Christmas edition Radio Times which we managed to get as part of that 6 issues for £1 offer (or whatever it was).
-Try to pin down mr f on what exactly the problem is with the Humax box as his latest thinking (he's a tech-head) is that it's the TV's decreasing ability to communicate with other machinery because 'it is so old'. It definitely isn't that old as we bought it when I cashed in a crappy life insurance policy & that was not all that many years ago. (mr f declaring that tech items are very, very old always a bad sign!)
OK, kettle going on now & must try & finish at least the leg on this hiking sock. Thick needles (for sock-knitting, anyway) as they are 4.5s so sock is growing quickly but because they are hiking socks, they are a lot longer. As they are a gift for mr f, I have to knit them when he's not here. You honestly can't get a thing past him, so they need to be completely hidden away at the bottom of my knitting basket before he gets home, then knitting basket has to be put on shelf that is too high for Cat, as Cat's favourite past time is removing stuff from my knitting basket & dragging it around the floor to play with & biting ends of knitting needles.
    OK, kettle time,
    f x
P.S Happy Birthday to CLF - Have a good one. You don't have to be 28 for ever. There honestly IS life up here at some of the bigger birthday numbers even if they feel scary at the time x

    Happy birthday Carrie!

    Small things so far.
    1. Found £1.80 in the self service till draw. Added to roadkill score. Forgot to add to wombling total. Note to self.
    2. Paid off £100 from THE DEBT which puts me at 50% of my self imposed stretch debt repayment total for the month.
    3. Taking £1.03 worth of coppers to use up at the self service till.
    4. Checked banking.
    5. Walked all journies.

    Back later

Foxgloves - I reckon I can get away with it for another couple of years :D (I refer to it at my "29th again" as it's become an ongoing joke in work)

Thanks CLF I am pretty pleased with myself. This is the first month since July that I haven't had to dip into them. Admittedly I only started working my first job at the beginning of Nov and the bar job 3 weeks ago. So given I wasn't working it's not a surprise that I've been dipping into savings. But it's good not to see it decreasing month on month :j

    Hello all,

Hope CCL feels better soon and happy birthday CLF :j

Today has been a bit carp.....work is getting to me at the moment - stupidly busy and it is Dad's anniversary....I think that the two are linked as I love my job/company so I'll put it down to this :o:cool:

    Today I have/will:
    • meals from stores
    • chcked online banking - quidco cashback has landed so moved this to credit card
    • checked investment and re-invested
    • need to update my sig
    • it was going to be a NSD - until there was a bottle sale at work.....ooops, spent £37 .....but, it was all given to charity - the flood victims in Cumbria
    • going to have a quick shower and get rid of today !

    Have a great evening

    Candy xx

    Hi again everyone

    Happy Birthday CLF!! :j

DNMS - You are a star with your MSing etc. Good for you. :T

Candy - Take it easy on yourself. I've got a feeling tomorrow will be better for you. Big deep breaths.

OH is going a bit stir crazy this week - no clients since Monday and he's only left the house for dog walking since then - so we're going to go a walk to our local. Dinner is cooking so we'll not be tempted by the cheap pub meals. ;) I might order us some T's vouchers for the pub so the next time we go we can get a free meal...

Have a good evening y'all
  • Just checking back in - Happy Birthday CLF :D I might just be 39 again next year (for the first time ;)) so I'm with you there

Still need to text customer cost
Also need to send some samples to another potential new customer - will do this tomorrow as everyone else in bed and I don't want to start banging around
Have a look at chocolate spoons (attempted them a couple of years ago but went horribly wrong - but still have the molds somewhere) or the chocolate slabs that were in the e-mail this week. Need 6 presents for DD nursery lot - I really want to get them all something as if you buy something like a big box of chocs they just get put together and shared out across all the staff, but if they're individual they get to keep them :D
DH came home with 4 packs of Fairy 42 DW tabs - for the grand sum of £1.70 :D They were allowed 2 each at work for 50p, but person who clocked off before him didn't want theirs. so he was allowed them. Then got staff discount on top :T

Must do some of my day job before I go to bed to try and get out of the black hole of work I have. Will check in tomorrow. :)
  • Hi everyone
Pretty quick check in for me tonight - I've taken enough medication to put a bull to sleep so I'm hoping to be off in the land of nod very soon, sleeping off my sore chest and feeling like my old self again in the morning.
Happy birthday to you CLF - hope it's been a good one :D
And great news DNMS that you've managed to leave your savings this month.

Also got half a set of books marked which I'm quite pleased about. DS has started nagging me to knit some more Christmas ornaments so I'll need to try and find time for that at some point soon. But now - bed. Hoping normal service will be resumed tomorrow.
