Wednesday 9th December - What small DFW things will you do today?

When we start out on the DFW trail we do loads of "big stuff" that makes quite a difference to our situation. These include having our lightbulb moment, cutting up the credit cards and cancelling Sky and the gym .
But once we have done the bigger stuff, we often feel that we are not making the same amount of progress, when in fact the small steps are helping us form good financial habits and helping us get closer everyday to staying in control and becoming debt free, or staying debt free.
Examples could be hanging washing out instead of using the tumble dryer or leaving your purse/wallet at home to avoid the risk of spending.
So be proud of those small steps, they really are important.:money:

Morning La E. Thanks for starting us off :hello: to you and all that follow. Managed to catch up on posts on last 2 days but it was late and no time to post. Early start today (thanks to small) and working from home, so a little more time than normal. My list for today:
Decide whether to buy nail thing from boots, was going to get MIL to get it me, but on reflection it'll possibly backfire, she'll say yes and then it'll get to Christmas and she'll have changed her mind and the offer will have finished, just need to work out if I have enough pennies
Was up so early time for a wash and dishwasher on cheap leccy
Submit first months meter readings to new supplier, will be interesting to see what bill is
Meals from stores, including yogurt that was best before 7th. Might need a little maple syrup as it was already a bit tart yesterday
Pop to chop and get last 2 cards and one roll of wrapping paper
Run for free exercise
Check banking, remember I'm owed £70 from work, so it might not be as bad as it seems :rotfl:
Text customer and let her know how much she owes me for order yesterday, will move to CC once received both to a) pay of stock land them my profit will reduce CC
Think that's all, have a good day everyone.

Hi everyone :santa2:
I hope everyone is doing ok. Let's have a big group hug :grouphug:
CCL - Sending my get well soon wishes your way! Take care of yourself before thinking about anyone else please!! Remember 'you must put on your own life jacket before helping others'
Jonno - Oooh, it's a tough one on the nails thing. I can imagine my MIL being like that and then buying me a load of stuff I don't need!! Could you say you'd 'pick it up for her' - save her a job and then pass it to her to wrap?
Here's me:- Try for a super quick shower
- Porridge brekkie - half water half milk

- Packed lunch
- Update YNAB

- Reply to yoga peeps emails x3 :A
- Finish niece's xmas hat :rudolf:
I'm not even going to put voluntary work on my list because I never get round to it.
I really should give it up so my cases can go to people with time on their hands but they keep begging me to take a case or two. Feeling guilty...

*Make a birthday card for mr f using recycled materials.
*Knit more hiking sock.
*Investigate outstanding goodwill payment from energy company. It may have been credited to my account.
*Pay £2 back to grocery budget. Borrowed it for playing cards with nephews, etc. Pretty sure I'm up by a frw quid, lol.

Morning everyone
thank you for starting us off LaE
Lambda In regards to the FB thing, I totally get it, it seems everyone else has amazing lives, but they only put the stuff on there they want people to see so they can boast about it. Underneath it's not as perfect as you think
I would like to give FB up but it is a good way to keep in contact with friends and I think I may be addicted plus I love all the cute photos and videos people share. Anyway lol, maybe just a lick of paint (even magnolia) will brighten the house up a bit and make you feel better
have a look for some ideas to "upcycle" your furniture
most of ours is hand-me-downs, the only thing we've brought brand new is our bed, spare bed and my hubby's gaming chair, everything else is something someone else has given us or second hand. In the new year I am going to upcycle a few of my bits. It is much cheaper than buying new stuff and you feel proud because you've done it yourself
CCL - Hope the horrible lurgy goes soon!! I know what you mean about it only being Wednesday, it feels like it should be Friday to me!! haha
Thank you Jonno and LaE for the links to the gel nail kits, my hubby got me one yesterday
although he gave it to me last night, probably to save him £30 for me to have them done before Xmas :P and he got the last one in the shop bless him!! It is definitely worth it
my nails look lovely and nice and shiny
Today's list:
- FPL
- Lucky phone
- B/L from stores
- Dinner at mums
- Go to MS I did on Friday and get the proper photo
- Survey/s
- Check for MS's
- Aim for NSD
- Read Martins email
Think that is about it
