So your meter reads 06482, must've been right round the clock.0 -

Most of our agency readers will get the 100kwr dial wrong.Dont trust them, read it yourself .Because the 10kwhr dial is before the zero the 100kwhr is a 4 not a 5. Thats where they will go wrong.Any doubt of any dial on or even close to a border, the dial to the right will tell you. That info, and its vital, seems to be omitted in supplier instruction. All 5 dials can be on borders, even the tenths of a kwhr. The first two dials are really important being 10,000kwh and 1000kwhr..Get them wrong and the bill will be a shocker !
My old dial meter had been around the clock. It had a date and a re certification sticker on it so maybe a complaint will get your meter removed.Hopefully you will opt for a smart meter and be done with meter readers messing it up, because they will also get the digitals wrong looking upwards, some of them are awful.0 -
They won't change it on request just because it's inconvenient, only if it's faulty. However old it is.
Why not just request a smart meter, which is a no-charge swap? Otherwise you'll be charged about £60.No free lunch, and no free laptop

That meter has a 35 year certification period. As this meter was last re certified in 1987 it is due to be done again in 2022.IT Consultant in the utilities industry specialising in the retail electricity market.

Even if your supplier will give you a smart meter, when the man comes to fit it he will take a sharp intake of breath and say "can't do this one, it's a two man job due to the location" so it will then be deferred to the back of the list.0
