Will a Life Mobile SIM-only deal help me build a credit rating?

If I took out a Life Mobile SIM-only deal (30 day SIM only) will the monthly payments for it show up on my credit report - i.e. will it help me build a credit rating? (They would if it was an equivalent tariff with Orange, for example).

I ask as Life Mobile won't credit check me in order to get the SIM-only tariff (according to MSE) and therefore with no credit rating it is a good mobile phone deal that I would be able to get (I have already been turned down for another mobile company due to a non-existent credit history in the UK).

(Aside: this is not actually for me, but a friend who is new to the UK who I am trying to help).

Pappa Golf, it's been a month since we last posted on this so I'm very interested to know. Did your monthly payment for this show up as "paid" on your credit reports?

That's great to know - so it looks like having a LIFE mobile SIM-only, which doesn't require a credit check to open (according to MSE) will help build a credit history.
