    My company has something similar where we only officially do it for the MD (although staff give myself and other director presents too) new staff were a bit funny about it too until they realised that even admin staff get high 3 figure, sometimes 4 figures in bonuses, and nice birthday treats too. Mind you, the MD has very expensive tastes so we joke that the bonus is probably best just paid straight to her...

    I wouldn't even consider it (unless I had few coins of some worthless currency to get rid off).

    My boss takes the whole company out to Christmas dinner each year. this includes a free bar. This year, we will drink and munch through £30+ worth of food and drink each.
