Accused of not answering my phone

I have been accused at work of not answering my phone (O2), I was "On Call" to come into work but my phone did not ring after they tried to ring me several times. My wife also tried to call me but the answer given was "cant connect" My phone is always on especially if needed for work. There are no recorded threads/logs of calls on my phone for the times given to me. O2 will not give you data on incoming calls only outgoing. Is this a common thing that can happen? Can calls be made and not received? Nothing went to voicemail either.

Network glitches (and possibly hardware/firmware bugs) could prevent a call from being connected. Also, there's a limit to the number of calls each cell can handle (ever been in a crowd, or tried calling at midnight on New Years' Eve and got a "network busy" message?)
Or maybe the local masts were operating at low power, or were taken offline, or you just happened to place your phone in a radio-frequency dead spot.
At the end of the day, mobile phone networks offer no guarantees that the service will always work reliably and without faults. If your phone appears to be working fine now, then it'll just have been "one of those things" (aka Sod's Law).0 -
Your phone or their phone ?
I would suggest you ask them to get a more reliable system such as a pager as back up.I do Contracts, all day every day.0 -
If you have a smartphone and WiFi at home have a look at o2's TuGo app:

Might be worth a try if you're in an area of poor reception etc. It's not your credit score that counts, it's your credit history. Any replies are my own personal opinion and not a representation of my employer.0 -
May be a network issue today, my wife rang and text me several hours ago and I've still not gotten the text and she got a couldnt connect message, I'm on O2 too.0
