Advice Required- new mattress

I have recently purchased a new adjustable bed and mattress.

I weigh about 13 stone, and when I lye down on the mattress it doesn't feel right some how.
I have found that if I lie on my back, and put my hand between my body and the mattress (palm of hand on mattress) I can feel the metal work and or springs in the mattress.

Is this normal? I would have thought that there would have been some padding between the springs and mattress top? Or sufficient padding as not to feel the springs.
Can any one advise, bearing in mind that this is an adjustable bed?

  • I don't know much about adjustable beds but I can't feel the springs on my bed. There should be a support layer and a comfort layer on top. Maybe something about the construction of your mattress means the support layer has to be thinner? Have you considered a decent topper? They aren't just for old mattresses.
