  • Not relating to my T4 challenge as I'm not including it in my total but closing out my T3, my mortgage fixed deal ends on the 29th Feb and yesterday I got the letter to say my new payment would be ~£14/month from March but I will be paying it off come the 1st & I think its going to be roughly £530 in total, very satisfying. unfortunately I'm no closer to finding a new house so I will continue with my savings challenge & push hard on that.
    - Mortgage: 1st one down, 2nd also busted
    - Student Loan gone
Swagbucks, Mingle, GiffGaff, Prolific, Qmee & Quidco; thank you MSE every little bit helps

Hoping I can tag along as I am very late to the game...am part of the MFW yearly challenge and am already marking my OPs so will be ready for April if you will all have me? My aim is to reach 20%LTV in three years, that's £156000, a reduction of £21,473...to be honest this target will all depend on the remortgage we do this year, fingers crossed it will be good and make a big difference to OPs!

Thanks SL, yes very happy! I actually paid it off last night as it turns out there are no early repayment fees in the final month of the product with Nationwide so could have paid it off as soon as the Feb DD & overpayment had credited but was rather busy with other things last week ( :( )
Just waiting on confirmation that it is all closed before amending my signature. Next on the hit list is the student loan which will be done by Oct while putting what had been going to my mortgage towards my T4 target.

  • Congrats on finishing your mortgage, trix-a-belle! :) That's a massive achievement.
  • Is it too late for me to join in too? I only started my mortgage free diary a week ago and only just got round to searching what MFiT meant in people's signatures

Not at all Mrs P, pop a registration form through to advise me of your target start & end. :)
I'll certainly take any new joiners for at least the first 6 months

    Woo-hoo, thanks trix.
I've submitted my membership form. I have no idea what is practical, plausible or feasible in the next 3 years but I've given myself what I think is both doable and a stretch goal of going down to £80K from £99K.
If I don't do it, I'll have still knocked off a significant portion of the mortgage!
