I work for an estate agent s.We would never suggest this,so risky in many ways.
Years ago against our advice, one of our vendors, desperate not to lose the property she wanted, trusted a chap who wanted to buy her house. He too was in rented, and to save money while the sale went through she agreed to him moving into hers and paying her rent.
All was fine for a couple of weeks, then he began to make excuses as to why he couldn't pay the rent on time.Eventually he stopped paying and stalled on buying her house.
It took months, and a LOT of money for court and solicitors to get him evicted.Total nightmare for her.So not all estate agents are so irresponsible.0 -
To be fair to the EA, they don't give a monkeys what sort of tangles these people end up in as long as the house sells and their commission comes in...
This Ea sounds like a numpty and is in the totally wrong profession........
Repeat business and recommendations is the key. Not everyone is a money grabbing so and so.0 -

Tell them fine, they can move in just as soon as the full payment reaches your conveyancer's account.....0

Yes, agree it was a stupid question. My gut feeling was a big fat no, just wondered if I was being over cautious, obviously not!
