Flight delay-cancelled

Hi
Not sure which way to claim. Flight with Norwegian air supposed tyo leave at 18:45 on 5 December. Told delayed till 05:40 on 6th as they where using crew to get another flight away. Eventually given a hotel (with problems over getting there and back). Then discovered at 00:30 by checking website that the flight has been cancelled and a flight with new number (same aircraft and crew) was going at) 05:40. When we got back to airport at 03:00 flight was scheduled for 06:20 flight actually left at 09:28 got back 14 hours late. Question do we go as delayed flight or cancelled?
