    Thanks for all the replies , i will be using my home wifi most of the time and just loading the sim when we go away not for streaming just emails F/B etc

    I don't do streaming on my phone, I use it heavily for emails, uploading pics and general surfing and 1GB is more than enough for the month. So you should have no trouble.

  • Just make sure that some throttling/cut-off and no-roaming is in place, you don't want to accidentally blow-through the 1Gb and get a bill for £100s of more!

    Most tablets don't even have 3g. OP did not mention if the tablet has a SIM slot. Maybe it does not.
    If it does, Freedompop - £7 SIM and an everlasting 200MB free per month - might be worth considering, so long as you turn off all the paid and auto renewal options,
