    How much data do you use? How long is a piece of string? Is it a tablet that can have a sim card inserted?

    Emails, updating apps, casual browsing, probably.
    Watching or downloading films/TV/video it'll run out in a couple of hours depending on the quality (bitrate).

    It's impossible to answer as it's all about how you use the device!

    1GB is roughly 1.5hrs of BBC iPlayer streaming...

    Or a eighth of an uncompressed dual-layer DVD...

    Or a third of the Windows 10 ISO image...

    Or 25 MP3 albums...

    Or about 1,099,511,600,000 characters of plain-text emails. That's 157,073,089,682 words (based on an average word length of 7 characters including spaces).

    Don't forget you can get free Wifi when you're out in certain places, especially if you have Sky/BT at home you can usually use their cloud services when out.

    I would say 1GB should be ok as long as you're not streaming all the time when you're not on Wifi. It should be fine for general Facebook browsing/emails/maps.etc

    Ohh.... did I get that wrong? D'oh! :o Let's try again:

    1GB = 1024 x 1024 x 1024 bytes = 1,073,741,824 bytes

    So that's 153,391,689 words.

    (Did I get it right that time?!)

    Closer , but you forgot the headers for each packet , you could be about 1-2% out :cool:

    If you don't plan on going away lots (and don't expect to do much video streaming when away - just browsing, emails etc) then just tether it to your phone. Will be far cheaper than a rolling contract - and if you run out of data then you can usually buy an add on for the month.

    If you plan on streaming lots then 1gb won't be enough.
