  • Good Morning chums, bright and dry here in the south east at the moment .Just as well as its 'Healthy Living' walk this morning followed by a cup of coffee in the library I always enjoy Monday mornings as it blows the cobwebs away from the weekend and I do get to natter to such interesting people on the walk. Its only about 45 minutes, but its a good incentive to the week :):)

Tomorrow I have a hospital visit ,not for me but for DGS Jack he has to see the dental surgeon as he has a tooth appeared in the roof of his mouth and the surgeon wants to see it as he will have to go into hospital for a general to have it removed It doesn't bother him but our dentist said its got to come out !!!
Then on Wednesday afternoon its my U3A Christmas party which is always good fun,so a busy week ahead for me.I'm glad I have got all the cards posted off and managed to use up all the ones left over from last year
Right time for breakfast I think some porridge will warm me up and keep me going until lunchtime.
No food shopping to buy today ,Lunch will be a bit of salad from the fridge and some pan-fried Haluomi cheese in a wrap from the freezer defrosted .Dinner tonight is a plate of LO from last nights dinner at DDs

I will have to get a top-up shop at some point this week but I am digging stuff from the freezer first to use up before I buy much more at the moment Day seven today and nothing bought so far this month from my little brown food purse :):):):)

    Cheers chums

    Good morning everyone :hello:

Another bright morning here and the wind has dropped so it feels very mild. DD13 is off school again as she is full of cold and looks dreadful, all bleary eyes and a shiny red nose. She says that so far being a teenager sucks :rotfl:. It's true, she has been poorly since her birthday last week.

I am hoping my new phone arrives today. I had a Windows one but I can't get on with it so I am going back to a Samsung. I think my eldest is considering it too as she has the same phone as me and is always complaining about it.

I'm going to make a chicken casserole for tea in a minute. I have filled up the fridge with fruit and veg so I will be using it all this week. Yesterday's eating wasn't too bad but I did crack and have a couple of mince pies last night. I still managed to lose a few pounds so it couldn't have done too much damage. I just wish my tummy coped better with salads and fruit. I'm eating it but it upsets my stomach but I am hopeful I will get used to it.

My friend is coming over today so I will take a couple of salmon fillets out for lunch. I haven't seen her for a week so we will have plenty to catch up on. She is panicking about buying Christmas presents so I will do some online shopping for her as well as I love spending other peoples money :D.

Well, I'd better crack on so I will love you and leave you. Hope you all have a great day whatever you are up to, take care xx
  • Morning all!

Hester - its impossible to OD on Pride and Prejudice :) Especially the 1994 version. I have a night in on my own Saturday with a nice bottle of red, meringue and P+P.

Strangely busy weekend but feel like I've not achieved much. Sorted the wardrobes out, nearly caught up on the washing - there's only two of us how can we create so much washing!

Got a terrible pain in my neck, am hoping to go to the doctors tomorrow to get it looked at. Fingers crossed I'll get it sorted.

Have a good day all :)

    Morning All

Wet again today but yesterday was really quite nice weatherwise.

No washing as the machine seems to have broken, found one at Argos to be delivered - despite all their promises the delivery will be £8.95 not £3.95 as stated on the website, will take 12 days (not the 5 promised) and they can't do a Saturday despite the web page telling me they would. I had a 'chat' with the on-line person who told me all these things were wrong and when was I placing my order! I'll go after work to Currys to have a look.

Got myself and DD and Christmas Tree yesterday from Ikea, £25 each but they give you a voucher for £20 to spend in January which is easy to do. DD has hers up, mine is in the conservatory!

Went for the paint in the cellar yesterday and had to wade through about 6 inches of water, never seen it that bad. I had put everything on pallets to keep it off the ground but they are nearly floating! There will be quite a lot of things ruined but at least I am safe and dry in the house.

Anyway, have a good week ahead. Take care. XX

Have you thought about AO.com i have used them quite a bit its free delivery on certain days and they do do weekends I just had a new WM from them last week so i feel your pain on top of xmas its just what we dont need

I have used AOL for quite a few things and been pleased with the quick delivery.

Slept in but feel better for a good sleep. Went to a remembrance service yesterday afternoon with DD and her husband and we lit a candle for DH. So glad they were with me and it was hard yet helpful at the same time.

I have home made soup for lunch and fish and veg for tonight. Another parcel is being delivered at lunchtime so will have a quiet morning. I seem to have spent all week waiting in

    Hugs to all

it's been a strange old morning so far but I've done a few things (apart from vacuum upstairs).

    Rang docs for repeat prescription
    Paid for house insurance renewal
Braised some leeks for later - love leeks!
    Got the woodburner going
    Ordered a food mandolin

I had to ring Humax as my PVR has had a tantrum, now I've had to reformat the hard drive and so lost all my recorded TV programmes. :( I'm trying so hard to not get bothered, they are only TV programmes, but they are ones I enjoyed watching over and over. Grrrrrr....

Hey ho -got a new book to read. I really didn't enjoy the final Tim Weaver book but stayed to the end of it. Now got a Denise Mina one to start.

Grey and yuccky outside, damp without it raining.
  • Just catching up whilst having my after lunch coffee. CAMELOT sorry to hear about your flooded cellar. Southern Scotland and Cumbria seem to have got the worst of it. Be wary of ordering from a Curry's store too, as they wanted silly money for delivering something to us. So we left the store without ordering and looked at Curry's online - self same thing with free delivery!!!

We are off to visit the Christmas village and shop at the garden centre up and over the hill shortly. If that doesn't get me into the Christmas spirit then nothing will!! It's the most amazing place at Christmas! I have decided I want a fibre optic tree this time to sit on the coffee table. I used to love a proper tree but now want the easiest and less messy option! The trouble is what else will I end up buying?! They sell the most beautiful light up things at Christmas! I'll send Mr TA into their coffee shop and I can then browse in peace without much sighing beside me!

Have a good afternoon folks xx ps almost tropical here this afternoon - blue sky, sunshine and 16 deg! Unfortunately heavy rain forecast for tomorrow.

    Tru, thanks for the song.
Another one here that would recomend AO.
Sorry to hear about the cellar Camelot.
Thanks Happily Married, I don't feel so guilty now.
    Hugs Hester

  • Good Afternoon everyone, back home again after a lovely weekend with DD1 and the most lovely concert on Saturday night in the Cathedral, now it begins to feel like Christmas. He Who Knows and I are off to visit DD2 and Zebra tomorrow for the day and then I'll be getting ahead with all the cooking I need to do that can be popped in the freezer to be as far forward as I can before I'm off again next Tuesday to Berlin for the Weinachts Markets. DD2 is moving on the 18th and unfortunately DD1 andf I are still away but the in laws and He Who Knows are going down to help and that Zebra is booked into nursery for an extra day so they should be able to cope. Can't wait to see the new house though as it looks lovely on paper.

CAMELOT so sorry to hear of your flooded cellar, hope you don't loose too much from water damage and that it doesn't take too long to dry out.

TA we're 15.5 degrees here this afternoon, walked Cookie along the lanes and actually found Celandines in full bloom, craziness but warm enough to fool them into thinking it's spring!!!

Nice to be home again, Lyn xxx.

    Evening all,

Had a better day today :)

Changed the Satnav with no problem. I thought it would be aggro but they just exchanged it and refunded me the £20 difference.

I was looking for a slim xmas tree online as we have redecorated the lounge and had new furniture since last crimbo, of course there is now not really a bit enough space for the old tree. DH has decided in his wisdom that we will 'trim' the old tree to fit... I can see that being a bit of a disaster... Oh well we'll see.

Dumpling - I have a Windows phone but I love it. I find it easy because it's the same as my laptop.

Have a good evening all :)
