Am looking to buy a pressie for someone who has an iPad Air 2. He is always complaining about not having an AirPrinter.
Does anyone have any recommendations on which one to buy. He just prints letters emails etc nothing major like loads of pictures.

My Brother printer works well for AIrprint, from a range of iDevices. I presume it's the same basic software on all Brother devices, but my J4410DW is bombproof and you can get cheap ink third party for £17 for all four cartridges. The third-party black cartridges are about 7 quid on their own, and I get about 1000 pages per black cartridge, so well under a penny a page B&W.0

I think all the major print manufacturers make Airprint compatible printersOne by one the penguins are slowly stealing my sanity.0

Alternatively if they have a PC connected to a printer then you can just install the Bonjour service followed by the Airprint service and use the existing printer:

You can, but that requires that the PC be running (not even asleep awaiting wake-on-LAN, but running) in order for printing to be working. That's for many people a deal-breaker.0

What about one of these? Ipad friendly, and air print too

this may be a daft question, but, what is an air printer?
I've posted on here, below, how do I print, full size, from my ipad air 1 ?
no reply yet, so interested in this.
I can print, the full doc,pic etc, but only a quater size of A4, the rest is blank.
Do you need an "air printer" for i-pads, not just my hp deskjet 3050A, wifi enabled.0 -

Sorry OP for highjacking your post0 -
Joe134 What you describe where the item to be printed is automatically adjusted to fit different size pages is called scaling.
It would help to know which printer you have0 -

I have a HP Deskjet 3050A.
If it's scaling, then my I-pad is not scaling up to A4, it's keeping it to letter size? using only a Quarter of the A4 paper;
I cannot find anything regarding Printers on the I-pad?
On Pc, you can scale etc , but on I-pad, it's just Print, unless I'm missing it.
Looked in settings.0 -
***Joe134*** In the belief that you have chosen the correct paper size, have a read of this link.
