two-pin plug

Unless it's a shaver etc the item should not have been offered for sale in the UK with a 2-pin plug on it.
Cut off (and dispose safely) of the 2 pin plug and extend the flex with a coupler, eg

to a 13 Amp plug, put a 3 amp fuse in the plug.A kind word lasts a minute, a skelped erse is sair for a day.0 -
ok, first of all, thankyou for all the replys,
it is mains direct operated
the item i bought 'from china' has 2 pin plug, like in Europe, was going to use it a plug adapter below from ebay

instead of using a shaver socket to plug in.
but the lead on the 'wreath lights' is too short to reach a wall socket.
our front door is covered by a porch so wont get wet from the rain.

I'm confused now, if you're buying the adapter plug from ebay why can't you plug that into a normal 3 pin extension cable?Accept your past without regret, handle your present with confidence and face your future without fear0

That adaptor has a 5 amp fuse. I would suggest replacing it with 3 amp as suggested above.0

there is 1 foot from last light to 2 pin plug, so when i use the 3 pin adapter plug it would mean the normal extension cable would be hanging on the front door, which i don't want.
i want to extend cable from the 2 pin plug
will go with the below post and usea 3amp fuse
. Buy the length of cable you need to reach the 13 amp socket.
2. Cut off the original plug, that you have on the C W light.
3. Join your new length of cable to the original cable on the C W , light.
thankyou all for your input0
