I hope your solicitor doesn't plan to charge you for the letter(s) he / she will be sending?? They work for you, not the buyer. I'd personally tell them not to send anything at all.0

Your buyer had every chance to test things were in working order before exchange.
I went and did a pre-exchange viewing last week, as do most sensible buyers. Turn the heating on, turn the taps on, go round and inspect everything is working to your satisfaction.
If your buyer didn't do this, then only has himself to blame. Say nothing, it's not your problem anymore.0 -

Its such a relief to realise there are people out there who apply common sense to such situations. Unfortunately I seem to have sold my house to someone who has none! Thanks for taking the time to reply. I have not heard anything from my solicitor today so hopefully they have decided to drop it0

Do not respond. Just move on. Eventually the buyer will too, unless you engage him in dialogue.

As the buyer sounds a bit of a chancer, it is probably worth them sending off an email/letter , as a worried seller may actually capitulate...:whistle:I was quite shocked to get the email and found it funny at first but as the weekend has gone on, I have started to worry that this could drag on and get expensive.0
