By coincidence all the things could likely have been sorted if the person responsible had done what they were supposed to do when they were meant to do it.
Not that different to somebody that continues to drive a car with no knowledge of wether the problem is safety related or not.0 -

Car may break down and bring me to a stop, but I mainly only drive 10 minutes to work and back on 30MPH roads. The journey to work is at 5.30am and I'm usually the only one on the road at that time.

I couldn't give a toss whether you kill yourself in a poorly maintained old car for the cost of a few pounds, it is the other innocent person you may injure in the process.Deleted_User wrote: »Oh please!

Yes, you're absolutely correct.
Just be aware if your defect kills someone you're looking at a death by dangerous charge that carries a maximum sentence of 14 years.0 -
So you think it is OK to be running around in a nearly 15 year old vehicle with a blowing exhaust, worn track rod ends, faulty CV joint plus undefined noises and now some sort of groaning noise without any repairs or investigation?id just ignore them fella.. end of the day brand fire new cars gone wrong just as much as the older ones..0 -
You'll get clicky noises from your faulty CV joints, but only when the wheels are turned - if this happens, but not in a straight line (or less at least) that's what the noise is. Should have been easy for the garages though.0

Yeah, what is the point in getting car "fixed" if I don't know what the problem is. It's always worth waiting for it to develop further first.
I'd have thought it wiser to know what the fault is before deciding to live with it rather than living with it because you don't know what it is.0 -
I'm not quite sure what's going on here....
LeeUK has asked for some advice and is now drawn into a weird debate about killing fluffy kittens and nuns because his clutch might go...
Anyway back to topic....
I would go with weak or broken springs on the clutch plate to 2nd MrMechanic's thoughts.Life isn't about the number of breaths we take, but the moments that take our breath away. Like choking....0
