WCA reassessments to start again

Do you want to be reassessed or not? In your OP you said the reintroduction of reassessments is not helpful, now you are complaining that you've not received the ESA50.
If you want an update on your claim you are free to call the DWP at any time. They can look at your individual claim and advise accordingly. If you've taken the time to research online, why have you not done that?
No, I didn't say that the re-introduction is not helpful. The fact that they are not informing people or giving any kind of timescale is not helpful. I was not complaining that I haven't received the ESA50, just stating a fact.
Frankly no, I don't want to be reassessed, I would rather be left in peace to get on with my life, such as it is, without additional stress, but of course I have to be reassessed. There is no argument from me that it is necessary and appropriate. It's being left in the dark, in limbo, that is very difficult for some people.
As for phoning them, I probably will in case letters have gone astray but it's a fearsome prospect for me and many others who find the process of reassessment hideously stressful because they can't be confident of a fair and righteous outcome.0 -

Thanks for the heads up. It might just stop me from having a total meltdown when I get the post as I'd forgotten about the Xmas bonus.

That was precisely the problem with IB, and the root cause of it being replaced by ESA. People were being assessed at the start of the claim and then nothing, even for those who wanted to get back into work.
Paying benefits to those no longer in need of them is unsustainable. There are obviously some who have a condition which will never improve and that is what the Support Group is for. For others, there is the possibility / expectation that there will be an improvement over time.
Many people have now been allowed to claim benefit for far longer than was originally intended, and that was not the fault of the claimant. All that is happening is that the staffing levels on the WCA is at a level where the backlog is being cleared.
No claim will be stopped until the reassessment process has been completed so I really don't understand how this causes additional stress. Unless, of course, the person waiting for reassessment knows that they should no longer be in receipt of the benefit.0 -

I agree, I don't know how many times I have to say that reassessment is necessary and appropriate.

Agreed.

Yes, I know.
No claim will be stopped until the reassessment process has been completed so I really don't understand how this causes additional stress.
Really?
Unless, of course, the person waiting for reassessment knows that they should no longer be in receipt of the benefit.
Agreed but not applicable to me.
There are many people in the support group who have no obvious outward signs of disability so they have to be able to justify being put in it. That can be an arduous process as the default position by the DWP seems to be to not believe you, consequently that causes a great deal of stress.0 -

Life is stressful, that's just the way it is and I don't know why people on ESA think that should be fully protected from it. Good grief......“Lord Thomas of Gresford: My Lords, one of the three great universal lies is, “I am from the Government and I am here to help you”. ”0
