Brittania Hotel, New Street, Birmingham

  • I used to travel extensively with my previous job and stayed in hotels most weeks. I can honestly say the Britannia in Birmingham is the worst hotel I have ever been in. If I hadn't been so tired I would have refused to stay there and trawled around trying to find somewhere else. Most disgusting place I have ever been to.

I got an excellent rate to stay at the Lowry in Manchester in December through hotelnet.com. It should be £315 for room only (twin) but I got it for £160 b+b through them.
Second and final LBM 01/01/11 Nearly got there but fell of wagon. HAVE to do it this time

Do you think it was worth £315 though?
Was curious, I checked on laterooms and you can get a room at the Lowry on Sunday for £115. But the reviews say breakfast and parking are not included, and there are no tea/coffee facilities in the rooms..
  • Not been yet, am going in December. I think it probably a bit pricey as Take That are doing their gigs in Manchester at the time, in fact they stayed there last year (not that I am a groupie or wishing to marry one of them to get out of financial blip or anything!):T
