Plusnet exit charges

I have experienced very poor service from plusnet. My current contact ends soon and I will be looking to change suppliers. I note on various plusnet review sites that an exit charge of £30 is applied even though the contract is finished.I have studied the terms and conditions and can find no mention of this charge. Can anyone throw any light on this. Thanks Alan

That charge only applies if you are cancelling your service completely. BT levy a charge for disconnecting which is billed to PN then passed on to the customer.
There is no charge for migrating your service to another provider. No need to ask PN for a MAC or even contact them as I'm sure the gaining provider does it all.
Just check your final PN bill to make sure they haven't "sneaked" in the £30 though. It has been known to happen!
Have you tried contacting their Cust. Options Team to see what they can offer? I've just renewed for 12 months with "free" broadband for the year, plus line rental (£15.49/month paid upfront).
However, their CS and contact waiting times etc. have really gone downhill with many negative posts on the PN forum.0 -
If you switch to Virgin they see this as cancelling your line completely as they (Virgin) use a different sort of line. There is as oldagetraveller has said, a fee for terminating the line if you effectively no longer want to use the line.0
