    Hi

    Been thru it recently.

    Cleared out the Software Distribution and downloaded a clean up tool.

    However one said culprit is Windows A/V etc. Defender and such like.
    I had several re-installs before anything happened.

    So if I can find my scribbled notes on what the erro number was I will come back and post.

    Patience is usually the answer. Though you can install IE 11 and then wait. Eventually the updates will appear, even though checking updates via the start menu shows nothing.
    Undoubtedly the push towards Windows 10 is affecting the way that Windows 7 updates are processed.
