Nothing wrong? What about, e.g. Stalin and the Gulags?

And the famines, don't forget the famines. Killed tens of millions you know*.

Oh and the Stasi. Yes, the secret police.

Mustn't forget the Purges. Hundreds of thousands we murdered in the Stalin purges alone.

And the mass execution of priests. That was genocide apparently.

And the massacres in Poland. That wasn't a great look. 150k dead apparently including many of Poland's brightest and best.

And the indiscriminate killings during the Cultural Revolution. I can't think of a liberal democracy which has allowed agents of the state to kill whomever they fancy.

Then of course there was the Great Leap Forward. 45,000,000 deliberately starved to death to enable the suppression of the peasantry.

Not forgetting mass events of ethnic cleansing (of the Crimean Tartars for example).

And the 'cultural genocide' of the Tibetans. Being boiled to death sounds like a particularly unpleasant way to be murdered by the state. Maybe not as bad as being buried alive.

Communism inevitably leads to mass killings and repression. From Bulgaria to Albania to Vietnam, communist systems deliberately sought to subdue, torture and murder their people in order to maintain their grip on power. Everything we have ever seen about communist countries teaches us that communists routinely engage in these moral outrages as a matter of routine.

*Mao believed that 50,000,000 peasants would have to die for collectivism to be achieved, thankfully he was wrong.

I'll rephrase it, there was a lot less wrong with it when it actually collapsed than with a lot of 'Western' countries.

The UK, US, Australia, France, Germany, Spain and Italy all manage to do perfectly well without boiling their opponents alive or deliberately starving millions of their own citizens to death.

ISIS fighters were forced to abandon al Hawl in November. They scrawled graffiti on the tanks and rigged booby-traps. They also left behind a bomb factory and a source of taxation: al Hawl had 3,000 inhabitants. Its retreat from al Hawl is one small example of a growing problem for the "caliphate." Its revenues are declining as its control over populations and resources shrink.

In 2015, ISIS lost about 40% of the area it held in Iraq, as well as parts of northeastern Syria that have both good farmland and oil. Airstrikes on the oil infrastructure it controlled have further diminished the balance sheet. Some of its senior financial officials have been killed. Trading through Turkey has become much more difficult. Its cash depots have been bombed. ISIS isn't about to file for bankruptcy -- but its balance sheet is hurting.

And now their personnel records have been leaked to Sky News.

That's all quite interesting to read and to see what is happening but still I have said before there really is not an easy way to overthrow these low life's and once you disrupt and break down one group of them they will splinter off into smaller fractions still causing mayhem.

I do believe stemming any chance of an income whereby possible will help this cause but seriously they are all serial fanatics and when you have two walks of life with such opposing views how do you resolve the problem that is ISIS ? , I for one think there is little help and yes bombing the hell out of anywhere they are does slow things down and also cause them problems, Long term though I do not see that we can ever create an easy fix against the loonies.

It would be good if like the Channel 5 programme under the dome this could be created then it could be planted right over them until they all are killed off leaving much manageable smaller fractions to disarm, That really would be the only way as bombing the whole area would certainly come up with a lot of anger from the rest of the world.

There isn't an easy way to defeat them in the Middle East Stevie, but if they want to come back unannounced and cause trouble here, it just got a whole lot more difficult. I would also imagine that there is work going on behind the scenes to call on some of the recruiting sargeants.
