Does anyone know if the tiny toy quadcopters such as the one in the link below are subject to all of the legislation I keep hearing about in the news.

I am assuming that is so small and light and the fact it has no camera that its fine to fly in your back garden without falling foul of the law.. We live around 4 miles from an airport
Thanks

As long as you observe neighbours privacy and keep it away from flight paths (I doubt you'll encounter much of a problem around your backyard), you won't breach any rules.
I work in aviation safety and these things can be a real danger in the wrong hands. You would be surprised how many people fly them near runways, the main reason being a total lack of any intelligence on behalf of the operator.
As I said, you should be fine with your intended use, enjoy....Drinking Rum before 10am makes you

Ah yes, it said 'buying guide' so I originally thought it was which drone to select.
http://www.menkind.co.uk/fly-your-drone-responsibly
It says 'Don't fly your unmanned aircraft within 50m of a person, vehicle, building...'
I guess that rules out legal flying for around 90% of people.0 -

I seriously doubt you'll fly one that small at all outside unless there is no wind at all.0
