New unclocked phone

Options
I've purchased one of these for a Christmas present, it's unlocked, when they insert their current sim card (Virgin) does their number automatically transfer to the new phone?
I'm hopeless with technology, in addition, I suffer with MH issues, what may appear simple, I struggle with, may I ask, please be patient, thank you

Yes, the number is in the sim. A phone with no sim has no number :)
  • Yes. But if you are talking about the contacts then no, you will need to transfer the contacts by hand.

Well it depends what phone they are using now, eg if android then all contacts are saved in the Google account and I presume apple and windows phones also work on the same premise.

    It's a Virgin contract £5.00pm
    IF its a new contract:
Call your old telco provider and ask for a PAC (Port Authority Code) for each number and provide to the new telco

If its a current contract, its just a change of mobile no action required

If they have a current Android then back up and make sure all info is linked to a google email account, then you just login with your google email on the new handset.
SO... now England its the Scots turn to say dont leave the UK, stay in Europe with us in the UK, dont let the tories fool you like they did us with empty lies... You will be leaving the UK aswell as Europe ;)
  • Hi,

maybe contacts on the old phone are saved to sim, some phones allow save to sim or phone.

If saved to phone, then transfer them on to the sim card.

What model is the old phone?
