A few more UUs:
- Aldo Carino shampoo with argan oil. WNBA. Ok, and cheap, but nothing special. Good for the price.
- Footner exfoliating socks. WDBA. Based on last time I used themUsed on Sunday, still waiting for the effects to start!!
- Dove youthful vitality conditioner mini. WNBA. Nothing special.
- Aussie Miracle Moist Conditioner mini. WMBA. Ok, good for travel, but not good enough to rely on long term.
And saving the best for last...
- Teoxane Perfect Skin Refiner night cream. WDBA! HG - the most amazing night cream. Pretty potent, and not good on sensitive skin, but great on anything else - I woke up with great new soft skin every morning. Just wish it was a little cheaper
A few ins as well, final BirchBox from a summer offer, actually quite happy with it (not impressed with BirchBox overall):
- Rituals showergel
- Benefit twin of mini eye liner and eye cream
- mini ciate polish (I don't count nail polishes for this challenge)
- sample of moisturiser
- perfume sample
- ModelCo lipstick (gone straight into the box for guests/friends as I won't use)
Very happy with the first three (the Ciate polish is a gorgeous glittery one!), which I'll definitely use, and the rather cute clutch it came with. Cheap and won't last long, but good enough for a party or two.0 -
I have some uu's
Aromatherapy Associates Inner Strength Bath Oil 7ml - WNBA this is not my favourite scent of theirs.
Yardley Peony Hand Cream 100ml - lasted ages due to size. This is a very thick cream which is pleasant enough to use WMBA.
Clarins Beauty Flash Balm 30ml - I have been using this on and off for about 20 years and have only ever bought one tube due to it always being a GWP (as this was), I have more in the stash but WBA.
I hope you are all OK in this foul weather.Debt Free and now a saver, conscious consumer, low waste lifestyler

Hello all! Very long time lurker to the site here, only just discovered this forum, so glad I'm not alone!! Last year I did a major Marie kondo and decided to finally take note of my stash and use it up. A year on and I've barley used anything and after being severely tempted by beauty advents and obsessively checking mse for Xmas beauty deals (for me obvs!) I decided enough is enough!
This is what I have - I didn't count anything currently in use, I hope that's right!
25 body / hand moisturisers / butters
2 foot moisturisers
6 shampoos
1 spray shampoo
2 deodrants
1 travel deodrant
1 conditioner
1 shower gel
3 bath soaks
2 make up removers
1 exfoliator
2 body exfoliators
4 face moisturisers
2 cleansing wipes packs
18 toothbrush heads!
1 bump butter
1 bump oil
1 toothpaste
2 clinique clarifying lotion
I cannot believe how much I have. I almost didn't bother counting them thinking there wouldn't be much but oof !!
And I didn't count makeup... I'm aware I have about 10 mascaras so am replacing mine every 3 months to try to use it up!
Can anyone help? What can I do with unwanted (open) shampoos? Charity? What about my clinique lotion? It doesn't suit me, would they swap it for me?! Bought a few years ago...! Any alternative uses for body exfoliators? Or for bump butter and oil??
Thanks all. Feeling more proactive now that I've offloaded!!0 -
Welcome!:)
Unwanted shampoos I've left at the gym (for people who forget theirs), put into soap dispensers for handwash (its all soap after all), given to homeless shelters, and used tiny amounts for washing delicate woolens and lingerie.
Body scrubs I re dispense and use by the kitchen sink to scrub hands after dirty jobs, bump butter and oil could always be used to deeply moisterize hands and feet. Hot bath, butter up then socks and or gloves on.No buying unnecessary toiletries 2014. Epiphany on 4/4/14 - went into shop to buy 2 items, walked out with 17!0 -
Brilliant thank you! Just emailed clinique to see if they can help with my 2 unloved bottles (ie swap them for something that I'll use?!!) Fingers crossed!0

Welcome Gwena, sounds like you have had your light bulb moment. Remember that those beauty offers you see will come around again and again. Let us know how you get on with Clinique. It's always good to know who offers great customer service (and not so!). My daughter recently bought a MAC lip liner (actually from the US when we were there in Sept/Oct) that would not draw on her facial skin. I rang their Customer Services and they are very nicely sending her a new one.
No more UUs as yet however did repaint my nails last night using OPI Press # For Silver with OPI Pirouette my Whistle on top. Looks lovely.Back for the No Buying Toiletries challenge. I pledge to only buy when I run out of a product that is not already in my stash no matter what wonderful emails land in in my Inbox or threads I read on MSE re: glitches!
