Hey there I wonder if somebody could answer a question or two I have regarding my new Credit Card?
1) I have paid the full outstanding balance it shows on the statement (Payment Due 7th December) and basically I have the funds available again yet it is still showing a balance for the amount I paid. Is this usually the case?
2) Because it is still showing this balance is payable on the payment screen will it try take the outstanding balance again?
I appreciate your time in helping me :j

Are you saying that you've made a manual payment, but also have a DD set up for it?
If so, it may still take payment, depending on timings. I don't know if aqua are one who take DD payments regardless of manual payments.0 -
No I don't have a DD set up I pay all of my bills via card0

How cat "it try take the outstanding balance again" then?
Payments take time to get processed, and you didn't say when you made it.0 -
I made the payment on Saturday0

Confirm that with a Direct Debit set up they will still take the payment by Direct Debit even if the full balance is cleared beforehand. That is unless they've changed it since I last did it. The same also applies to Vanquis and MBNA. It's a little trick I used in that past to get a credit balance.
When the payment is applied it is shown in the transactions on the right-hand side and reflected in the balance on the left-hand side of the online account summary. Aqua update at mid-night so even if faster payment is used it won't be shown until the next day after it is received.0 -

card payments take longer to clear, 3 days I think. the leaflet that came with the card tells you how long each method will take to post to your account.0

I had an issue last month where my Halifax CC statement showed a balance but my Halifax bank account showed the money had been paid, took a couple of days for the CC balance to show zero.
Thats why i never leave payments to the last minute. I have a DD setup for the minumum amount just in case also.Censorship Reigns Supreme in Troll City...0 -
The explanation here is simple.
The payment has been received because it is reflected in your available balance.
I don't know specifically about aqua, but most credit cards update the transactions once a day but not at weekends, so I imagine the payment transaction appeared and the balance updated late last night.
Others have mentioned possible delays in the application of the payment to your account due to the method of payment so should this be applicable expect the payment transaction to take a little longer to appear. But your payment due date of 7th December is next Monday so the payment has definitely been received in good time. You have nothing to worry about and everything is perfectly normal.0
