I am hibernating and going to have a lazy 'me' day. Just had scrambled eggs for a late lunch and HM soup defrosting for tea.

There's plenty of fruit, yoghurt, different cheeses and cracker-type biscuits so I've told DH that 'she-who-cooks' isn't working today and he's to help himself when he wants something :rotfl:

Will probably do a few surveys later when I get bored :)

I think you deserve a round of :T for making that kind of effort, especially if your weather is like mine (sounds pretty similar).

Yeah, probably. You're not that far away really. Several roads got closed (one from a landslide or something?) and one of the bridges, and all the trains got cancelled.

It was a pretty grim walk at 6am I won't lie to you

procastinater, I think it is something to do with the way the brain thinks.

typing the teh - I am a touch typist having learnt at school many years ago. But even now I still mistype words because I think my brain races ahead faster than my fingers and types next letters, words, what I am thinking of etc. lol

You may be right Aesop. I only use a few fingers as I didn't ever learn until I got a computer - I oftren wish I coulod do it properly ! :o
  • Spent today trying to find the living room and sort out dvd's etc to trade in. In the midst of this OH casually mentioned that one of the cartridges in the big plan printer (work) was low when he walked past - umm you wouldn't walk past unless you were printing so why didn't you take note of which one it was and let me know . So when I checked 5 out of 6 are nearly empty  although I'd already ordered 2 in. So an amazon order, more cash back used up (£25.20) and a few choice words muttered under my breath;)

I really hope you're enjoying your hibernation, Lynne, you deserve some 'you' time:beer:

Hugs to everyone who got wet and cold today. I hope the storms and floods haven't done any damage to your homes:)

Made a dash through the rain to the car to collect my money from the table top sale. In the end I sold a surprising £44.27's worth and after the fees (I didn't take a float this time) ended up with £39.27:j. I'm really pleased with the outcome as I managed to shift some books which I was seriously thinking of donating to charity because they were too big and heavy to be cost-effective to sell online and to post. Not valuable ones but nice to own all the same. Also sold an artificial Christmas tree and some decorations which have been in the loft for the past 12 years at least. I didn't expect the tree to go as most people seem to have put their decorations up already;). We don't bother with Christmas much ourselves:o

Lovely CBC - sitting doing very little apart from browse through the threads on here atm and I'm warm and snuggly under a throw with the heater on - BLISS :D

Going to watch the film on 4 at 9.00, as not seen it before, and ingest some fruit and yoghurt followed by cheese and biccies.

I won't lie - the odd glass of wine will have to accompany the munchies. Well it is Saturday eh :rotfl:

Hope you all having a lovely evening and not having to venture out in this awful weather - it's battering the windows here

Wow to all the car boot people that didn't let a small storm stop them :T:T

I opened a HSBC Loyalty ISA last week - pay in £300 and receive £10 per month for a year - and my first £10 has been paid in :j plus 1p interest :) so I can add another £10.01 to my total.

I have lots listed on ebay but I did them all as BIN rather than auction and, although I have lots of lookers, nobody's buying yet. Still, it's early days.....

I also noted on American Express's offers there's a 'spend £10 and get £5 cashback' offer at Post Office counters which will be great when I have to post my ebay bits and bobs. Check your offers if you have an Amex card!!

I'll have to look into this - been a HSBC customer for years and have an ISA with them (for 2 years or so maybe?) but it's not this loyalty thing

I, too, list my stuff as BIN on eBay. I find I get better results that way, even if sometimes I'm haggled down to 75% of the initial price via 'best offer'

ETA: nope, I do have the loyalty ISA I just don't get that offer. a) I don't have an advance account and it's only people with Advance Current Account who get the £10, and b) I had the ISA before the offer started so
