7610 and 7210- blocked? barred? help!:)

Hi everyone!
I have got two phones 7610 and the 7210. Both of them don't work with any network. When I put a Sim into the 7610 it says sim registration failed. With the 7210 is something similar -it says phone restricted.
Can they be blocked or barred in the UK or just simply locked? I know the 7610 i on Vodafone but if it is locked should it work wothout coverage on other networks?
Thanks and I am looking fornward to someone to help:)

If it's only network blocked then putting in another simcard (eg PAYG) but same network would be ok. If the phones have been reported lost/stolen, etc then the phones will be blocked from ALL networks. If this is the case, you would have to ring the network (voda in this case) and ask them to look into it.

I think (but not sure) but if you took the phone into the carphonewarehouse, they may be able to check to see if the phone has been reported lost/stolen and therefore blocked from ALL networks. If it has and you have proof that you bought that phone (receipt or something) you may be able to have it unblocked.

That's what I thought but spb03 wrote that both phones don't work with any network which would seem to indicate the phone has been reported lost/stolen and therefore the phone has been blocked.

the thing is I bought them off ebay and there the seller said he tried voda or t-mobile and they didn't work and I have tried o2 and orange and they seems not to work either. i thought the phones are just locked to other network then t-mobile and vodafone thats why I bought them but unfortunately they don't work with o2 or orange either. in this case can they work outside uk or are they barred or something ?!

I would as the buyer for my money back, if he won't then claim it back from paypal as they are stolen , if you paid by cheque then report it to ebay ....

The 7610 / 7210 both are able to use all four UK networks (some really, really old phones were only capable of supporting two of the 4 networks) providing the phone isn't network locked or phone blocked. You could post in the top sticky for the unlock codes to see if it is just network locked. It can't make them worse? If they're blocked from use as it's been reported stolen/lost then nothing much (I don't think) can be done.

I'm unsure if they will work outside the UK. I read a while back that this was possible because the phones serial number isn't shared with any other country apart from the UK but they were looking into exchanging this with other countries so chances are they wont work outside the UK now.

with the 7610 it keeps coming out sim registration failed. I can ask for money back but is it sure that they are stolen.
also the imei is 353387005531474 and i think it is vodafone as there is in the menu this is the 7610 what the unlock code will be. also i am thinking is it possible to be locked when it keeps saying reg failed?
    thank you
