Anyone had letters when paying someone's old account after they switch?

I got a letter from Tesco telling me I'd paid an account, that had switched and my payment had been redirected.
No information was on the letter about the new account number etc.Hi,
I've had a payment made to my old account which should hopefully be redirected to my new account (work's expenses system had old details despite updating where my salary is paid to).
Does anyone know how quickly the payments are redirected? I need to decide whether to wait or move some other money to meet outgoings.
I know it's obviously far too late to be helpful to you in your case, but in my case it was near instant.
I paid the wrong account (in my name, just a different account to the one I'd meant to), I checked all my accounts a couple of hours later and it was in there. I'd not realised it was redirected until I got the letter today.Nothing I say represents any past, present or future employer.0
