This looks very good! I guess the only thing I would need to do is to double the RAM?

Yes definitely add an extra 4GB and run it in dual channel RAM mode as this improves the integrated graphics, a worthy upgrade for little outlay as 8gb is really the optimal for a 64bit desktop. Also consider adding a 250gb SSD as well such as this samsung for £58

Start with 4Gb and keep your eye on the usage %. My wife is happy with 4Gb.

Grumbler, so she tells you, does the postman's PC have 8GB ? ;)

    Couldn't resist the gifter :)

Is a PC Gaming machine a good option for multimedia editing, like videos, photoshop, vector graphics etc?

Or is it only really good for gaming.

It depends what software you are using.

gaming machines are basically just pc's with decent GPU's in them.
Some software can make use of the GPU to speed up the processing.

It can also depend on the GPU that's in the pc. If the software just uses CUDA, then having an AMD GPU will not really help.

For basically editing, the better gpu's will have a limited effect

Years ago I bought a Goretex jacket. It was going to be expensive so I thought I'd look for the cheapest I could get. And then I thought, "how does a manufacturer make the cheapest Goretex jacket?" The price of Gorextex fabric will be expensive but fixed. So to make the cheapest jacket you would give it no pockets and use rubbish zips. I imagine it's the same with PCs. Intel i5 processor on rubbish motherboard with cheap and nasty PSU = cheapest i5 PC.

Why have you bothered to now post two incoherent ramblings, the latter with a dreary analogy to one's attire and have yet to help in the slightest the OP in their locating of a PC that will fulfil his requirements ?

Please don't come here to moan what a gross injustice the world has done you.

Think positive and you too can make a contribution.

None of the specifications here have ever suggested which PSU they are using. 500w PSU means nothing. I would like a PC with an i5 processor but not if it has an unreliable PSU which pumps out tons of heat and makes a horrible irritating noise.

So get off your bum, stop criticising and show how it's done then ;)

Otherwise you just confirm my suspicions that I'm listening to an empty vessel making a lot of noise.

    Hi

    Try

    https://www.palicomp.co.uk/

Then you see and choose from quite a variety, and adjust the spec to suit you. Intel Involve for £400.00

Go from i3 3.7ghz upto i7 4.4ghz(probably overclocked by 10%) for another £179, add some more ram if the standard 8 isn't enough.

    etc
    etc.

Obviously I would make my own but last company to make me a PC was ginger6.com. If you go on their website you can specify each component. So:
    Core i3 4160
    Asus H81 M-PLUS motherboard
    4GB DDR 1600 RAM
    120GB SSD for operating system
500GB HD for music, files ETC
500w aerocool integrator 80 plus bronze
    Windows 10 home
    3 year warranty
    £369.37
Bit more expensive but may be more efficient, reliable and last longer.
