  • Whilst it is back I have had communication that from March 2016 they are pulling the plug and getting rid, Apparently too few people using it to make it viable for them.

More likely that too many people ARE using it but don't have any significant monies with YBS.
If you put your general location in your Profile, somebody here may be able to come and help you.

I will be sad to see it go - I do have what I would consider substantial savings with them but I may be in the minority.

  • I have £0.02 with them. (Left over interest from when I did have an account 5 years ago).

You can still register with First Direct - Internet Banking Plus - without being a customer of First Direct, its the same set-up as Yorkshire/Accountunity but with a different front end/layout.

Does it offer anything over and above what Accountunity does?

No it doesn't, as it is actually Accountunity, but with some functionality disabled - most notably your ability to save your profile onto a portable device. This is very useful when you move from one machine to another, whether permanently or temporarily.

But some people feel more relaxed using the aggregator fronted by a known UK-based company. I started out with EMM myself, tried YBS MM for a bit, looked at FD IBP, and settled with Accountunity many years ago.

Cheers, I only tried Accountunity a couple of days ago - having seen it mentioned in this thread. Seems pretty handy, especially being able to log into the individual banking sites without needing all the login details, bar the initial setup.

Nothing offered over and above Accountunity, as Colsten has posted, I only suggested First Direct for those people who feel a bit uneasy about using a non-bank affiliated website and prefer something more UK/bank related.

I have set this up today but have had a lot of problems doing so. It would not work with accounts showing a) brackets b) the & in M&S.

Now it is set up I have noticed the following problems/quirks.

I have a Halifax share dealing account, but it only shows part of my investments. It shows my Isa and the cash held in there, but not the shares outside of the Isa.

FD came up with a field for messages - not a big problem, but I had one message in there and it showed it as £1!

I would prefer to have all accounts within one bank shown together - these seem to be completely jumbled and I had to rename several of them as I could not tell one regular saver from another.

I could not get into Tesco bank without manual intervention - FD said that there was a problem getting into Tesco, but I have no problem with this via yorkshire money manager.
