Yet another question for all you helpful people.
I wrote down my income and outgoing and worked out what I had left then I worked out exactly what percentage of my total debt each company held. I then applied these figures to my remaining disposable income and offered these amounts. I have been told by several companies that the amount I am offering is nothing better than a joke and I must pay bigger amounts. How do I convince them that I am doing the best that I can?Debt August 2007 - £38,204.58 - Completely Debt Free - May 2008 - Now Proudly Saving.DFW Nerd Number 684 - Proud To Have Dealt With My Debts:heartpuls Very Proud Aunty Ciara :heartpuls0 -
I would suggest going via either CCCS or Payplan. I think creditors take things much more seriously when they become involved. Is it better to aim for the stars and hit a tree or aim for a tree and land in its branches :think:Loves being a Wonderbra friend :kisses3:

This is their tactic to try and bully you into paying more. Stick by your guns, write back and tell them that you have offered pro rata payments based on what you can afford - that is all you can do. I agree though that if you can go to CAB or through CCCS or national debtline or somewhere, then you might find they are more accepting of your proposals.Olympic Countdown Challenge #145 ~ DFW Nerd #389 ~ Debt Free Date: [STRIKE]December 2015[/STRIKE] September 2015

and make sure you send them via post a full SoA with all your debts and pro rata payments listed so they can see you are not trying to pull the wool over their eyes. don't back down - you can only do what you can afford to doOlympic Countdown Challenge #145 ~ DFW Nerd #389 ~ Debt Free Date: [STRIKE]December 2015[/STRIKE] September 2015
