No I have not bothered him yet with my news because I know that he works very long hours at the weekend and after catching up with recent events on his diary I think that he has maybe more than enough going on in his own life at the moment but I will tell him when I eventually get an evening off of work where I get some time to do all of the normal things again.I am meant to be working yet again this weekend but I will wait and see if my shifts get cancelled or not. I got my student loan statement through this morning that I requested nearly two weeks ago so that I could come up with a plan of action for tackling this next hurdle however I got a bit of a shock when I actually read it. I had never actually read a breakdown of my account before because I thought that I would be paying it off until I was about 100 so there never really seemed any point in reminding myself before now.
However I got a huge shock when I read my balance because it was much much lower than it should have been and when I called up to query this I was told that I had been making regular overpayments by debit card since I had my first monthly repayment deducted from my wages.
I asked them to check that they definitely were looking at the right account and I have been told that this is definitely the case and in addition to the larger repayments that I have been making over the last eight months I actually have very little left outstanding.
Despite much denial I am fairly certain that I know who is responsible for this but I am not really sure how I feel about this and am a big bit confused about my reaction. Anyway the upshot is that I have a grand total of £2,387.42 outstanding.

Thank you very much I am pleased about it really but in a strange kind of way I am actually a bit disappointed about it because I had already planned the next six months around it and raising the money to pay it off and now realistically I will be able to pay it off in two months without much effort on my part.Debt August 2007 - £38,204.58 - Completely Debt Free - May 2008 - Now Proudly Saving.DFW Nerd Number 684 - Proud To Have Dealt With My Debts:heartpuls Very Proud Aunty Ciara :heartpuls0 -
Hi Ciara-has your sister been overpaying for you? Good news on the balance.Blackadder: Am I jumping the gun, Baldrick, or are the words 'I have a cunning plan' marching with ill-deserved confidence in the direction of this conversation?

However did you guess? :rotfl: It is actually quite a strange one in that she had always paid money to it every month but apparently when I started to get serious about paying my debts off my brother in law unbeknown to both myself and my sister decided to match whatever amount I managed to pay to my creditors every month only he paid it directly to my student loan accounts. He says that it was kind of meant as an appology for being unsupportive in the beginning when I really needed all of the help and support that I could get.Debt August 2007 - £38,204.58 - Completely Debt Free - May 2008 - Now Proudly Saving.DFW Nerd Number 684 - Proud To Have Dealt With My Debts:heartpuls Very Proud Aunty Ciara :heartpuls0 -
What a lovely, kind, sweet gesture. I don't know what to say, it is really nice to know that in this rotten old world of ours there are people such as your sister and husband -who will do all they can to reduce the misery of others lives-as in debt!Blackadder: Am I jumping the gun, Baldrick, or are the words 'I have a cunning plan' marching with ill-deserved confidence in the direction of this conversation?

I really do love them both and massively appreciate everything that they have done and still do for me and probably always will do for me.Even although she is actually only seven years older than me my sister has always kind of been like my mum and always been there for me and always looked after me in every way that she can and my brother in law always just does exactly whatever my sister tells him to do. :rotfl:

If you had ever met my brother in law and knew exactly what he does for a living you would probably see the extremely funny side of his need to seek constant approval for his every action from this absolutely tiny and fragile looking woman who comes across as being all sweetness and light and totally angelic. :rotfl:Debt August 2007 - £38,204.58 - Completely Debt Free - May 2008 - Now Proudly Saving.DFW Nerd Number 684 - Proud To Have Dealt With My Debts:heartpuls Very Proud Aunty Ciara :heartpuls0
