  • LaineyT I don't think he was drunk, and probably I should have been more forgiving but I wasn't feeling very peace and goodwill to all really.

Piece of good back bacon removed from down side of cooker and binned, what a waste. Good job there was enough in the pan for his breakfast.

nmlc your poor mum, parents are a constant source of worry, my mum and her DH have me mithered to bits sometimes.

More washing going round in the machine. Raining and forecast is grim so will have to be indoor racks, AND I have put the heating on, plus thick socks.
I was jumping to conclusions and one of them jumped back
  • Morning All

Very wet here but the wind seems to have died down, it kept me awake for a while. DD is snoozing away, I've made pancakes (drop scones) for her breakfast when she gets up.

Washing on the airer again, DW emptied and kitchen surfaces and floor cleaned. Will get something for lunch when I go out, think DD wants to go to Ald!

Went to friends for dinner last night which was lovely, had a good catch up too. She served a lovely desert from Ald! freezer dept that I might get in for christmas.

HH - More joy in your life then?! I hope FIL remembers that MIL gave you that ring.
judi - I would ask the staff to keep a very close eye.
TA - Good luck with the DGC on a rainy, windy Sunday!
JackieO - Have a lovely lunch with your family.

Have a good Sunday everyone, hope you are all well. Take care. XX

Middle DD came over yesterday to spend some time with me and has just left to see a friend. She will be back around one having picked up a few groceries then takes her sister to the cinema in the afternoon and maybe the gym.

I plan to just cook something simple for myself and then for tonight do a tomato and veg pasta sauce with meatballs and spaghetti for myself and dd. Furry visitor has been sorted for food, water etc and is mooching around.

Older dd and her husband come round tonight to pick up their cat and hope they had a lovely weekend.

It has been very rainy and windy here overnight so hope dds are safe driving.

    Hugs to all.

    :hello: Good morning everyone,

Its very grey and windy here today and was the same yesterday, although I have washing out and yesterday's also went out and almost dried, just finished it off on the radiators last night.

Yesterday DH started his new job as a courier driver for a very well known online company;) I dropped him off at 8.00 am and he didn't get home until 9.00pm but has now got a van. He went off to work this morning at 7.30 am:eek: I got up as I said I would take DS to work as he was starting early too. DD is up but will be going to work at 1.00pm so I will be on my own for a bit, although have to pick up DS again at 4.00pm. I want to pop to Maidstone and try to get some brandy from L*dl for the Christmas cake, as I really need to get it made:eek:

Yesterday I cleaned the house, so today just a bit of ironing. I am making some bread, a cake and some leek & potato soup for DH to take out with him, I don't think I will be seeing much of him between now and Christmas:rotfl:

AOD what a thing to happen to you, it would have turned my stomach too and made me feel ill:eek:
HH sorry to hear about the ring, MIL gave it to you, so its yours.
TA good luck with the DGDs, have you got lots of DVDs to watch?
Judi hugs to you as well.
RR belated birthday wishes to your DD. Have a wonderful trip.
JackieO have a lovely day with all the grandchildren

hug-2.gif Hugs to everyone, stay safe and warm. I don't like this wind at all.

What a wild day it's turned out to be! We've even had sleet briefly but it's mostly high winds and driving rain.

I did my IT visit, cleared out 1000 emails from my friend's inbox and about the same from her sent box... got rewarded with a cup of coffee and long chat. I've postponed my trip into town as it would have been madness and just done a freezer dive for today.

I've done a white wash and got it all hanging over the clothes horse upstairs with the dehumidifier going to get it dried. My work today is done!

I hope everyone is safe and warm.
  • Afternoon (((((((((((((((((hugs)))))))))))))))) if you need one.

Has anyone had their winter fuel allowance yet. I just looked at the web site and saw if you quailify and have a partner who is UNDER 80 the total is £300. If you are over 80 the total is £250....hows that then, someone who is over 80 and in poor health gets less....bit weird if you ask me, but then I am just an idiot who worked all her life, paid tax etc and done not seem to count in the scheme of things. Better shut up or I might say something I shouldn't.

Its blowing a hoolie and like yesterday its very dark, had to put the light on just after 3 yesterday, its now about 2.15 and difficult to see the laptop, guess the light will be going on again soon.

I put the bed linen out for a blow. Just getting it in when I dropped the end of the duvet cover and stepped on it!!! its back in the washer, will have to go on the airer in the sewing room, its too late to put it out again now.

Roast beef for supper with all the trimmings. I made a syrup sponge last night we will finish it off tonight.
  • AOT, how horrible for you.
Csarina, mine arrived one day last week, I get £200.
FIL has arranged a date to scatter the ashes, so far he's told 2 people it's on Friday 9th Dec & 2 other people it's on Wednesday 11th! I'll phone the crem to find out, last week he was telling us it was Saturday, but he hadn't actually booked it.
    Hugs Hester
    Chin up, Titus out.
  • Good Afternoon everyone, wild and windy day here and the rain has just started but no matter, the washing basket is empty, the ironing basket is empty, the house is clean and tidy, Cookie has been walked twice and best, best, best of the day was a ring at the doorbell this morning at 10 30 and there was the Zebra child standing in the porch with a bunch of roses!!! DD2 had been up to visit a schoolfriend in the area and hadn't told us so just turned up, how wonderful, best surprise of the year. How the boy has come on in the few weeks since we saw him, the speech is really developing and he can communicate his wishes very well, 'Garden Oma, out' and then 'House Oma, in' when he saw the summer house and we did a visit to the green house, the polytunnel where we had to pull some carrots for him and picked up sticks in the garden and watered the pansies in the pots, such a lovely day we've had. His mum said 'We've got to go home now to find Dadda, shall we get in the car?' and he said very firmly 'No' and clung like a limpit round my neck, bless him he's wondercrump!!!

Hope you've all had a lovely day and that the horrible weather doesn't give you any problems, Lyn xxx.
