If however you want lots your best going to JJFoodservice where you can get Brazilian Halah Chicken for as cheap as £2.50 a Ki
I wouldn't be able to eat it. There is supposed to be legislation in this country, regarding pre-stunning (cruelty), but who knows what goes on abroad ?0 -
Sainsbobs have Gammon joints at £3 kilo. Look at the grain of your beef and go for a full cut of meat and not a rolled joint also a small amount of flecked fat will add flavour. Why pay full price when you may get it YS0

Hope the other joints are the same, but after these going back to locally produced, alot more expensive, but far better value
Mine was tough and tasteless too. I slow cooked it in the same way I always slow cook beef and have never had this problem before0 -

I roasted mine rare and then rested it for 30 minutes and it melted in the mouth last week, hubby told me to never buy anyone else beef from now on.I’m a Senior Forum Ambassador and I support the Forum Team on Competitions Time, Shopping & Freebies boards, Employment, Jobseeking & Training boards If you need any help on these boards, do let me know. There is a 95% chance that you've already ate Brazilian Chicken. If you've had a Chicken Kebab, Burger or Pizza from a Take-Away in the last 10 years you've most likely ate it. It is widely used in the food industry because it meets all British & European standards.
KFC is Halah and that means non-stunning has been used.
When it comes to Chicken slaughter its actually better to use a razor sharp knife and get it done it 1 second rather than shoving a probe in a Chicken's mouth which is extremely painful. Sadly in the UK we have to put them probes into Bird's mouth and prolong the pain.
There always a risk with pre-stunning. Sometimes the animal is made unconscious and sometimes its not. You can never be 100% certain that the animal is unconscious.
As a Christian I would rather do it as my belief intended it to be done. Jews & Christians have a extremely long history in animal slaughter and we do care about the beasts of the land. Just because we don't do pre-stunning doesn't mean we don't care.
I personally think its much better to sever the prime nerve to the animals Brain which results in a quick death.0 -

Is it rump or silverside?
Thank you.
PS
I've had both the silverside, and the other joint they call 'rump roast', which could be topside? Cooked both in the SC and they came out beautifully.0 -
I've bought 2 joints for Mr M'son topside both £5.50 ish, you're limited to 2 per customer they are not strung in anyway full corner cuts. £4 per kilo also they are in the freezer to be used at a later date. So the freezer is getting nicely stocked up with special offer meats. Why pay full price when you may get it YS0
