£4 a Kilo Beef Joints ASDA!
Was really pleased to see Asda have the Beef at £4 kg again this year pork loin and gammon joints at £2.97 kg. Have stocked up as this usually only lasts a couple of weeks then the price goes back up for Xmas.
Official MoneySavingExpert insert Tue 24 Nov: We found beef joints at other supermarkets including Tesco and Sainsbury’s for around £10/kg and pork joints for £4-£5/kg, so this offering from Asda is a decent deal.
Big thanks to meg72 for the original spot!

I have a tip that I hope is useful.
I buy the Rindless Pork Loin Joint and slice it into 15mm steaks then freeze individually. This is much cheaper than the normal price of loin steaks.
I defrost completely to room temperature then grill until just cooked. This gives a delicious, tender steak to the accompaniment of peas and new potatoes.
I also cube some of the loin, freeze on cling film on a tray then bag up to use in curry or sweet & sour.0 -

I also do this and the same with the beef, slice some up for steak, cube some for stewing and mince some.Slimming World at target0 -

I've just got a 2.640kg one, which will be cut into 3 and frozen tomorrow. We'll get a Sunday roast and 2 more meals out of the sliced leftovers for both of us from each one.If you fold it in half, will an Audi A4 fit in a Citroen C5?

Just to make you all aware ASDA are selling Beef joints at £4 a Kilo. Its usually about £5.50 during rest of the time so your getting 30% off nearly.
I don't eat Pork that much but Tesco are doing Pork joints at £3.50 a Kilo.
If you want Chicken best place is FarmFoods if you want a couple of bags at £3.33 a Kilo. If however you want lots your best going to JJFoodservice where you can get Brazilian Halah Chicken for as cheap as £2.50 a Kilo. You have to order £100 worth of stuff though.
Not sure about Turkey at the moment because haven't priced everything up. Will post here.

I normally buy my meat from local suppliers , but I thought at that price I would buy a few joints, cooked one yesterday on slow, and it was still tasteless and tough as old boots.
Hope the other joints are the same, but after these going back to locally produced, alot more expensive, but far better valueWork to live= not live to work0 -

I have found it very tender, I just put mine in a roasting bag, cook on gas 7 for half and hour then turn down to 4 . I yours are still tough. cube them and use as stew or casserole, still cheaper.Slimming World at target0
