Vent - Barking dogs!!

Okay, I live opposite a park. We are so luckily to have this park on our doorstep but over the last few months I have been woken up every weekday morning (usually around 7-7.30am) by a woman who owns around 8 dogs. It is brilliant that she is looking after these dogs and walking them every day but they bark constantly the whole time they are out (usually for a good hour). It is driving me insane
I really feel for the people who work night shifts and are just trying to get to sleep at this time
Is there anything that can be done to get her to either train her dogs to stop barking or to get her to come out at a later time? I don't feel safe approaching her because of the sheer number of out of control dogs she has with her. She just lets then run round her barking the whole time
I have two dogs myself and one gets so excited when it is walk time she does bark when we get to our destination. But then she stops and we are all able to enjoy our walk.

What type of dogs are they? Terriers tend to be more " vocal" as they say.. Annoying I agree. Why are they barking so much rather than just playing?Makes you wonder if they get shut in her house the rest of the day ( pity the neighbours and the dogs)
The park I regularly go to, everyone seems to know each other, could you ask around?0 -
Are they her dogs or is she a "professional" dog walker?
Having that many dogs, which she can't properly control is irresponsible to say the least.
Unfortunately don't know what, if anything, you can do.0 -
She might be a dog walker. You could get up one morning and follow her, find out where she's from, then google what you've found out (her address) ... and if she's a dog walker, then check the council website to see if there is any chance that she's not allowed to use the park for professional reasons and/or if there are rules/regs for dog walkers in your area.
Of course, you'd have to be an avid nutter to do this .... but as you're up early every morning anyway (like it or not!) .... it'd pass the time0 -
She will be a dog walker. 8 dogs at once is perfectly standard for a dog walker and the dogs like to have other dogs to run around with.
Living near a park one of the things you've got to live with is increased noise. Its a problem that you will always get.
Could be worse, I once lived next to a park and occasionally out of my window you could see men taking part in !!!!!exual activities.0 -

That case was never proven against me...................:D0 -
I'm not being funny hon but dogs bark. Dogs that are being walked in a park bark at other dogs being walked in a park, irrespective of how many dogs may be being walked together. You moved next to a park which is frequented by dog walkers. It's a bit like moving next to a pub and then complaining about the noise of the music or people when they're drunk. Sorry hon but I don't think there's a lot you can do here. And 7.30 isn't an unreasonable time imho, for either city or country living. xxx0

You don't live in the Birmingham area do you? It has been illegal since March 2014 for one person to walk more than four dogs at a time.0

I have lived in the same house for 18 years and have never had the pleasure of listening to someones dog bark continuously for at least an hour every morning. I know that dogs tend to bark but it's a lack of training on the owners part that means they bark constantly. I have two dogs myself and one does bark when she is excited but we keep her noise to a minimum so as not to annoy our neighbours.
I am actually a dog walker myself and would never place dogs together on a group walk if I knew they would bark all the time. It's called being aware of others around you. I also would never walk as many as she does either but it's not the number I have an issue with.
I know from experience that dogs don't have to bark at each other when they are together. The majority of communication from dogs is silent. If their body language isn't being read they then have to resort to making a noise. So this to me means the dogs aren't getting the attention they need and are having to try to 'shout' the loudest.
Surely it is common decency to be aware that your noisy dogs might be having an impact on the people around you?0 -

Unfortunately noI think I will be getting in touch with the local council though just in case something can be done. She does let the dogs run riot when they are out so I'll mention that to the council too.

Ahahaha!
I think I might turn nutter just to find out where she lives so I can send her a polite letter letting her know the impact her actions are having. She might not realize just how loud her dogs are when they are all out together. Here's hoping anyway!
