Installing sound/audio to pc

I'm properly struggling with this, trying to install c-media audio device for hp desktop pc. It's won't let me. Would there be somewhere on internet to do this?
I have looked on the Control Panel, Sound Devices, but it says there's no audio device. I've tried installing and reinstalling drivers but just wont work

Is it onboard sound and have you made sure it's enabled in the Bios? Also have you downloaded the correct drivers from the HP website and loaded those???0
