DPD - the best?

We get a lot of stuff delivered to the house. Just had a delivery from DPD. Praise! Brilliant.

A couple of weeks ago we had a parcel delivered by another firm. A beaten up old estate car turned up and dripped oil on our driveway. Bad.

DPD sent an email on delivery day giving a 1 hour delivery time estimate. And a link to their website where you can track the van's location in real time. We were delivery number 76 and we watched the van's progress on the map from delivery 59 till it got to us. So we knew exactly when it was due. Clever stuff. Nice logoed van, courteous driver.

So if you are sending a parcel please send it via DPD.

Have to agree, DPD tracking is the best thing since sliced bread. Had a tracked parcel from Parcelforce today, lucky I was in as their tracking didn't work.

Hermes are ok but hit and miss, Yodel, don't make me laugh.

    I agree with you 100%.

It was a Yodel yobbo that dripped oil on my driveway. If they were half the price of the competition I wouldn't use them.

I had a couple of deliveries from them. I find it interesting the route they take and how many parcels are delivered nearby. When I was the next on delivery, the courier rang the doorbell on cue.

    I've been Money Tipped!
The only problems I had with them were less due to deliveries and more down to the sender, had a sender put the wrong house number on a parcel and whilst they confirmed it on the phone they couldnt give me proof as I wasnt the account holder so I lost a Ebay case for a £100 item

The other one is a few days ago I sent a parcel through parcelshop and its not tracking, not sure if thats the shops issue or dpd but its impossible to find out.

Agreed. DPD only do 5+ items/week so not for casual users, but it's always a great relief to me when I see they are being used to courier goods to me. The fact that you get a 1h slot is golden - some days the building I work from is unstaffed, so I don't have to stay there all day on my own for a package, just an hour. And as their systems will simply not allow them to deliver earlier than their allocated window, you can be pretty confident of that slot, too. They got it right, everyone else can learn from them for sure.

Just to add to my post praising DPD. Always found Parcelforce to be a pain when they drop off at local Post Office when you're out, change of mind yesterday when recvd two texts , first giving me same choices as DPD to change delivery day etc and second text giving me 1 hour time slot, must have learnt from DPD's success:)
  • Ill add my praise for DPD - always delivered on time when they say they will.

other couriers needs to take notice.

Same here - great service, really friendly driver who always makes sure the package is either left at my house or with a neighbour if i am not in, the delivery tracking is excellent - by far the best delivery company!

How did you lose an Ebay case?

If the sender put the wrong house number on the parcel they can't have proof of delivery to you.

As for the underlined part, who are you talking about, Ebay, DPD, or the sender?
