Renewed my Vodafone contract - can I cancel?

Earlier this week Vodafone contacted me to discuss renewing my contract. I moved onto a lower tarriff and they gave me a £70 credit on my account. I've now decided I would actually prefer a newer phone, on my previous tarriff. Am I correct in thinking that if Vodafone don't offer me a decent deal, under the Distance Selling Regulations I am entitled to cancel the new contract within 7 days (since the deal was done over the phone).

On a normal upgrade/contract you have upto 14 days to cancel/return the phone.

It depends what your old tariff was, if it is an old one not offered now, i don't think you will be able to go back on it, if it's a new tariff then it's fine to change.

Just give customer service a ring and tell them what you want to do.

    good luck.

Arg, since it wasn't actually a new contract, but a continuation of my existing one, albeit it on a different tariff, all they can do is put me back on the old tariff. Or alternatively, give them 30 days written notice of cancellation. Oh well - my own fault I suppose! Now to go somewhere else to get a nice shiny new Motorola V3. :)

I would put the 30 days notice in and see what happens, as i went through a voda upgrade which didnt suit me and i put my letter in they then contacted me to see if they could offer what i wanted, this spaned over a few calls till 3 days before i was due to be cut off and then they managed to offer what i wanted, not much point in being tied for 12 months and wanting a new phone.
The more i save the more i can spend:rotfl: :rotfl: :rotfl:
