Trying to pay Orange/Moorcroft debt
Hi,
In January, i moved to New Zealand, with just 1 month left on my bill i left it to run its course. Unfortunately, i over spent in the hotel the night before leaving and didn't leave enough in my bank for the payment to come out the following month. Orange were unable to take this payment. When i had to return due to family illness in June, i applied for a new contract but was rejected numerous times. I got my credit check done & saw i had 4 months of being in the red.
I immediately got onto orange, who said i had to go to the DC, who was/is Moorcroft. I rang these and they said they had no records of my number, postcode or name, and to rang orange back and get a reference number. I rang orange, they said the reference number will be my old number. I rang Moorcroft back, the reference number didnt work. So i rang orange back who again insisted the reference will be my mobile number. Numerous phone calls later i left it as i was wasting alot of money on these phone calls.
I'm now planning on getting a mortgage in the near future, but have been advised to do my best to get this bad score off of my credit rating, or risk paying more per month. I've had another 3 phone calls, back & forth with moorcroft, finally thought i was getting somewhere when the moorcroft rep said she'd had a look through the archieves and found my file. She said it's been passed back onto orange. So AGAIN i ring orange, but AGAIN they insist it's not with them, and i had to go to moorcroft AGAIN with my mobile number. I told the guy this wouldn't work, he goes away to speak to his supervisor, but comes back with the same answer. He gives me the number 07973100178 saying that it's a direct number to moorcroft and also a reference number which will 100% work. I rang the number to find its orange again!!! I'm getting no where at all...and this score is ruining what was a 100% positive credit rating.
Can someone please help me!!! (APOLOGIES FOR THE ESSAY!)

Thanks. Yes i know it'll still show unfortunately, but having it paid will look better than it still being in the red.
I will try what you've suggested, thanks again.0 -
Spoke to Moorcroft 26/11, they said they'd email me to say they were no longer in charge of my case so i could present it to orange. Nothing. Spoke to them monday they said they'll send it again, double checked emails to make sure it was going to the right address....nothing. Please advise0

Raise a dispute through your credit file company, if they cant prove/trace anything correctly for the agency through Orange itself the file will be deleted/amended. Magically I'm sure Orange will be able to find it and take 'settled' payment.SO... now England its the Scots turn to say dont leave the UK, stay in Europe with us in the UK, dont let the tories fool you like they did us with empty lies... You will be leaving the UK aswell as Europe0
